TPO - Agricultural startup products and creative products of rural youth in Da Nang are connected for consumption and market search at the 2024 Innovation and Startup Festival.

This is the first time the Da Nang City Innovation and Startup Festival has been held in Hoa Vang district, creating an opportunity for rural youth startup products to be widely promoted and introduced to consumers.

Within the framework of the Festival, 26 booths displayed local agricultural products, OCOP agricultural products, craft village specialties and creative products, startups, and scientific research topics of students who won high prizes in competitions.

According to Mr. Le Cong Hung - Secretary of the Da Nang City Youth Union, the annual Innovation and Startup Festival is a playground for union members, youth, students to connect, exchange, and learn about startup models and creative products; thereby, nurturing ideas and creative startup models in various fields.

“This year, the Festival aims to support and promote high-tech agricultural start-up products in Da Nang. In the coming time, with the support of the Department of Science and Technology, the City Youth Union will continue to accompany and support Da Nang youth to develop projects and connect investments in start-ups and businesses,” said Mr. Hung.

The City Youth Union and the Department of Science and Technology of Da Nang City visited two agricultural start-up models in Hoa Vang District, including the Ai Lam Rice Wine model (Hoa Tien Commune) and the Phu Son Village Cooperative model (Hoa Khuong Commune). These are two successful youth start-up models using OCOP products in the area and have created a reputable brand for consumers.

The organizers also gave support to 10 disadvantaged young people to develop their economy, each gift worth 1 million VND. These are all examples of young people overcoming their circumstances to become rich in their homeland.

At the booths, local people enthusiastically shopped for local specialties, agricultural products, and reputable, quality OCOP products.

Typical agricultural products of the mountainous communes of Hoa Bac and Hoa Phu such as tea, chicken eggs, fruits, wild vegetables, etc. received the attention of many visitors. Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan, Secretary of the Hoa Bac Commune Youth Union, said that this is an opportunity for OCOP products and local agricultural products to get closer to the people, to find and connect with the market to consume the products.

On this occasion, the Department of Science and Technology and the Da Nang City Youth Union awarded the "Student Scientific Research" contest in Da Nang City in 2024. This year, the contest attracted more than 800 topics from students from 13 universities, colleges, and research institutes in the area, of which 150 topics participated in the City-level round.

The Organizing Committee awarded prizes to 18 best topics of the Contest, including: 2 first prizes, 2 second prizes, 4 third prizes and 10 consolation prizes. According to Ms. Le Thi Thuc, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Da Nang City, over the years, the contest has been a platform for many ideas and research topics with practical applications. "From here, many scientific articles have been published, many topics have been transferred to agencies and businesses as well as a platform for young people to start innovative businesses," Ms. Thuc said.

The talk show “Starting a business in agriculture - Opportunities and challenges” attracted the attention of many union members, youth and students. Thereby, young people had the opportunity to exchange with experts and agricultural entrepreneurs to learn about the opportunities that the agricultural sector brings as well as the challenges that need to be overcome.
