The US press said that the second day of the 2025 US Open coincided with the second day, so traffic jams were especially serious.
Matches at the 2025 US Open always start at 11am (local time), but on the match day of August 25, most spectators arrived late to the stadium.
Players, coaches, reporters and others with US Open 2025 passes were forced to leave buses to try to get to the venue on time.
The vehicle carrying them was described as "standing still for a long time".

Eleanor Crooks, who works for the Press Association (UK), was one of the "victims of traffic jams". It took her 90 minutes to travel a distance that should have taken only half an hour.
Crooks boarded the bus at 10 a.m. from the New York Hilton Midtown hotel in Manhattan, but by 11:30 a.m. she still hadn't arrived.
Crooks said many people had to walk on the highway to get to the stadium on time to watch the matches. It is worth noting that among these pedestrians were tennis players participating in the US Open.
Crooks said the worst thing about the 2025 US Open is the distance from Manhattan to Flushing Meadows (where the tournament takes place).
