Due to heavy rain, Provincial Road 551, the border section between Ky Trung and Ky Phong communes, suffered a landslide, causing traffic congestion on the morning of October 13.

Due to the influence of cold air strengthening combined with the high altitude easterly wind zone, from October 12 to the evening of October 13, many areas in Ha Tinh had heavy to very heavy rain.

Boc Nguyen Lake spills over at a flow rate of 20m3 /second

To cope with heavy rain, some reservoirs in the province have proactively released overflow.

As of this afternoon, Thuong Song Tri Lake is spilling water at a flow rate of 50m3 /second, Kim Son Lake is spilling water at a flow rate of 20m3 /second, Boc Nguyen Lake is spilling water at a flow rate of 20m3 /second, and Tau Voi Lake is spilling water at a flow rate of 5.5m3 /second.

The Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development have issued telegrams and dispatches on focusing on responding to rain and flood situations and ensuring the safety of irrigation works in the area.

The spillway in Ky Son commune was flooded, causing local isolation.

Heavy rains have caused damage to some localities such as Cam Xuyen district, Ky Anh district and Ky Anh town.

Mr. Le Ngoc Ha - Vice Chairman of Cam Xuyen District People's Committee said: Heavy rain caused a landslide on Ngan Mo River, through Phuong Tru village, Cam Due commune, with a length of 10m and a depth of 5 - 7m.

The landslide broke the fence and damaged Mr. Cao Nam Tinh’s household livestock farm. Immediately after the incident, the local authorities mobilized human resources and machinery to repair the damage.

Meanwhile, in Ky Anh district, heavy rains caused 7 bridges and 5 tunnels in the communes of Ky Lac, Ky Thuong, Ky Trung, Ky Tay, and Ky Son to be flooded and partially isolated. Local authorities quickly barricaded and posted warning signs prohibiting people from passing through.

Provincial Road 551 (DT.551), the section bordering Ky Trung and Ky Phong communes, suffered a landslide that caused large blocks of rock and soil to spill onto the road, blocking traffic. The local authorities then mobilized machinery to remove the rock and soil, and the road has now been reopened.

In Ky Anh town, heavy rain also caused local flooding on some roads, including National Highway 1 through Thuy Son Lake, Hung Tri Ward; at the same time, flooding some underground passages and roads.

Local authorities have also barricaded and sealed flooded areas to warn people to ensure safety.
