Based on the decisions of the Ministry of Education and Training , and the guidance documents of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province, the Department of Education and Training of Bac Ninh province has issued Document No. 1103/SGDĐT-TCHC to the People's Committees of districts, towns, cities, and affiliated units on strengthening response, handling, and overcoming damage caused by storm No. 3.

In particular, to ensure the safety of preschool children and students, the Department of Education and Training requests the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to direct relevant units; educational institutions in the area and affiliated units to let preschool children and students take a day off on September 9, 2024 (Monday) to review and overcome the damage caused by storm No. 3.

Immediately after the storm, school cleaning work was quickly deployed.

Local authorities coordinate with schools to clean classrooms; repair infrastructure; and re-check electrical systems and equipment before use.

Take measures to prevent epidemics; handle trees, signs, roofs, gate posts, and surrounding walls that have been tilted by storm winds to ensure absolute safety for children, students, teachers, and staff when they return to school on September 10, 2024. Along with that, there is a plan to make up for missed classes at an appropriate time.

More than 1,500 trees of the facilities were knocked down by storm No. 3.

Previously, right after the Government's online conference with 26 localities directly affected by storm No. 3, at the afternoon of September 8, at the meeting to assess the damage and deploy urgent measures to overcome the consequences of the storm, comrade Nguyen Anh Tuan, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee, requested the education and health sectors to thoroughly grasp the Prime Minister's direction to not let students lack classes or schools; not let sick people have no place to seek medical examination and treatment.

Agreeing with the proposal of the Department of Education and Training to let students take a day off on Monday (September 9) to focus on overcoming post-storm incidents, Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Anh Tuan requested the education sector to mobilize local forces, if necessary, propose to add military and police forces to quickly fix the damage so that schools can resume teaching and learning from September 10.

According to statistics from the Department of Education and Training of Bac Ninh province, as of 5:00 p.m. today, September 8, at schools in the area, 1,570 trees had fallen; 57 houses, classrooms, and 2 administrative buildings had their roofs blown off. 33 garages had their roofs blown off; 2 BA poles; 6 electric poles; 1 high-pressure lamp was short-circuited or broken; 24 units had a section of their surrounding wall collapsed.

Most of the classrooms with damaged roofs were corrugated iron roofs. In addition, some educational facilities had their outdoor playground domes collapse, swimming pool roofs blown off, and window panes broken.

Currently, the education sector of Bac Ninh province is urgently cleaning schools, reviewing and proactively overcoming the consequences of storm No. 3 so that preschool children and students can return to school safely on September 10.
