Overcoming the situation of land silting to serve production for people in Tan Kien village

Since January 1, construction units of the Hung Vuong road project connecting the East-West Economic Corridor and the Southeast Quang Tri Economic Zone, passing through Tan Kien village, Trieu Ai commune, Trieu Phong district, have been working to overcome the situation of land filling to serve the immediate agricultural production of local people.

Mr. Ho Anh Tuan, in charge of construction of HPP Asia Construction Group Joint Stock Company, one of the two construction units, said that the work to overcome the silting situation of the rice fields of the people of Tan Kien village was being carried out urgently. Accordingly, for the Bau Sen rice field area, the units have arranged human and material resources to dredge and repair the canals and dig an additional 50 m of canals, clearing the flow so that people can plant the upcoming winter-spring crop in time.

For the Nha Nay rice field area, the construction unit supported 15 million VND so that households whose fields and gardens were affected by the road construction could proactively take measures to ensure the crop season. By the afternoon of January 2, the work of repairing soil and rock that had filled up the production land of the people of Tan Kien village had basically been completed.

The Hung Vuong road project connecting the East-West Economic Corridor and the Southeast Quang Tri Economic Zone was started in 2021, by the joint venture of Asia Construction Group Joint Stock Company HPP and Dong Do Group Joint Stock Company. From June 30, 2023 to October 5, 2023, the contractor automatically stopped construction, withdrew all personnel, workers, and machinery from the construction site without reason, not in the construction plan and without permission from the project director.

However, the previously constructed section, due to the impact of the weather, has affected the residential road and filled up the production land of people in Tan Kien village. Regarding this situation, on September 7, 2023, Quang Tri newspaper published an article "Consider terminating the contract with the contractor constructing Hung Vuong road".
