Opening of the 2025 Da Nang City Youth Taekwondo Club Tournament

VHO - On the morning of September 19, at the Taekwondo Training House (2/9 Street, Hoa Cuong Ward), the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City held the opening ceremony of the 2025 City Youth Taekwondo Club Tournament.

In his opening speech, Mr. Tao Viet Hai - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City said that the tournament aims to continue promoting the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" and implementing Project 7245/DA-UBND of the People's Committee of Da Nang City on developing mass sports , improving health, and improving people's physical condition in the period 2022-2030, with a vision to 2045.

At the same time, the event contributes to encouraging martial arts training at the grassroots level, creating a playground for young athletes to compete and improve their skills.

“Through the tournament, we hope to develop the Taekwondo movement more widely at the grassroots level, build a strong force, and select excellent athletes to participate in national and international tournaments,” Mr. Hai emphasized.

Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City, Tao Viet Hai: "The tournament has great significance in promoting the movement of physical exercise and sports, helping children to both study and play, improve their health and thereby improve their physical fitness, helping them develop comprehensively."

This year’s tournament gathered nearly 400 athletes from 31 Taekwondo clubs in the city. Athletes competed in 3 age groups: under 12, 12-14 and 15-17; competing in two categories: sparring and individual for both men and women.

The organizing committee will award medals to athletes with outstanding achievements in each weight class and competition.

Leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City and the Sports Center presented souvenir flags to the clubs participating in the tournament.

The 2025 Da Nang City Youth Taekwondo Club Championship will take place from September 19 to 21, 2025.
