On the afternoon of May 25, the Italian Embassy in Hanoi and the Hanoi Museum opened the exhibition “Creativity in Italy - Capacity for the Impossible”.
The event took place on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, as a tribute to the contributions of Italian companies to the development of industrial production sectors in Vietnam.
Ambassador of the Republic of Italy in Hanoi Antonio Alessandro delivered the opening speech of the exhibition.
Conceived by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, designed by Studio Mario Trimarchi, curated by Giulio lacchetti and Francesca Picchi, Compasso d'Oro Odo Fioravanti award winners, “Creating in Italy” is a journey of Italian industrial design.
The exhibition is a journey of industrial design with 31 objects representing the prominence of Italian technological and manufacturing innovation. Through the objects on display, the exhibition demonstrates the creative spirit, the meticulous search for new solutions, the constant urge to experiment and overcome the limits of materials. It is the ability to “make the impossible possible”.
Ambassador of the Republic of Italy in Hanoi Antonio Alessandro shared: “The exhibition sends two messages. Firstly, the design industry seeks solutions to bring products from industrial design to real life and the creativity of the products on display at the exhibition, from materials to technology.
Second, Italy has brought to Vietnam the most superior technologies and competitive advantages that Vietnam can learn from to develop its industrial production, based on its existing competitive advantages.
Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, Mr. Dang Minh Ve, Deputy Director of Hanoi Museum said: "This exhibition marks the third cooperation between the Italian Embassy and Hanoi Museum in the past 6 years. All 3 exhibitions at Hanoi Museum have brought new, creative and impressive things that have been highly appreciated by the public. This exhibition introduces a lot about the creative industry in Italy."
The result of this “search for perfection” is an inherent characteristic of Italian design: the combination of beauty and functionality, where the love for good products goes hand in hand with the aim of improving people’s daily lives.
In particular, creative activities in the Unesco creative cities network that Hanoi has participated in and cultural industry development activities that Hanoi is promoting.
