Khanh Hoa pilots two-level local government

According to the plan, from the end of the pilot operation until June 30, 100% of new communes and wards will conduct mass testing.

According to Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tan Tuan, communes and wards will proactively review and urgently carry out tasks to ensure readiness to put the new commune-level apparatus into operation from July 1 smoothly, effectively, and efficiently, without causing interruption in serving people and businesses.

Resolution No. 202/2025/QH15 of the National Assembly, the entire Ninh Thuan province will be merged into Khanh Hoa province, forming a new Khanh Hoa province with an area of 8,555.86 km² and a population of more than 2.24 million people.

Along with that, Resolution 1667/NQ-UBTVQH15 decided to rearrange the commune-level administrative units of Khanh Hoa province, establishing 65 new units, including 48 communes, 16 wards and 1 special zone.
