When former students return to their old school as teachers

Many teachers said that they chose their old school to continue their teaching career because they loved the working environment at their old school. At the same time, they also wanted to contribute a small part in "spreading the fire" of passion, sharing practical experiences from their own experiences, and guiding students.

The place received nearly ten former students to work at the school

Hanoi Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities is a place that has received many students returning to work at the school. According to Principal Nguyen Thanh Long: We are receiving 9 students from different courses to work at the school. Among them are teachers who teach Math, Civic Education , Biology, Literature... These former students were all good and excellent students of the school, have pedagogical skills and quality degrees. They are also teachers from ethnic minorities, so they will understand, sympathize and be close to the students.

As a former student of the school and having the opportunity to return to the place where she studied to work, teacher Nguyen Thanh Loan - a junior high school math teacher ( Hanoi Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities) left many impressions on students not only in her professional teaching role but also in her position as a homeroom teacher.

Ms. Nguyen Thanh Loan shared: I have received thoughtful and meticulous care from teachers. Among them are retired teachers, and there are also teachers who are still working at the school. After a long time working at the school, I have realized that the care and love from teachers and staff are still intact for the students. That is responsibility and affection. From the love and care I have received, I always wish to return to school, "pass on" my passion to the students, hoping that they will also grow up and mature from that love and care.

Talking about the reason for choosing to return to work at the school, Ms. Dinh Thi Thu Huyen said that returning to the school to teach was her destiny with this place: “When I graduated, Hanoi Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities was not the first school I worked at. I worked at the school next door. But then, because of a lot of “destiny”, I had the opportunity to return to this school.”

Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich, a Literature teacher and former student of the first course of the school, shared: “After graduating from Hanoi National University of Education, I returned to school, following in the footsteps of my teachers in the career of educating people. I am very grateful to the Party, the State as well as the teachers of the Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities for creating conditions for me to have the opportunity to study, progress, and become mature as I am today. I am very proud to continue to devote myself to the training and education of ethnic minority children.”

Efforts to continue to contribute

Returning to work at their old school, teachers all said they had made many times more efforts, because pride is always linked to responsibility. Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich shared: In nearly 20 years of teaching at the school, I have always made efforts to innovate teaching methods, testing, and evaluation; actively applied information technology in professional work; proactively used and organized effective teaching with active methods and techniques to help students be interested in the subject.

The most prominent point in the professional work of young teachers is the application of information technology in lesson preparation and assessment. As teachers in the 4.0 era, teachers keep up with the pace to be able to convey knowledge and guide students well in learning and applying knowledge into practice. Regularly carry out topics aimed at changing traditional teaching methods with modern teaching methods, enhancing students' practical ability, comprehensively developing learners' capacity, turning dry theoretical lessons into a lively learning process.

In addition to the former students returning to work as teachers, the school also welcomes many former students returning to work as caretakers for boarding students. “In the past, the school was very difficult. I remember one night, while we were sleeping, a tornado came and blew the roof off. That very night, my teachers and I had to re-roof it. Now, the school is more spacious, but the memories of the difficult times still exist, reminding us to appreciate and try harder for this school. Studying at a boarding school is something I am very proud of, always wanting to come back to continue training and growing. That is also the reason why I want to work here,” said Mr. Hoang Van Thao.

According to Principal Nguyen Thanh Long: As the only special school in Hanoi, the school carries out the task of managing and educating ethnic minority children in 13 mountainous communes of the city (students study from grade 6 to grade 12), aiming to create a source of quality human resources for ethnic minority and mountainous areas, areas with particularly difficult socio -economic conditions of the city. After 30 years of construction and development, with the attention and investment of the Hanoi People's Committee, the Department of Education and Training, all levels and sectors, the school now has a spacious, clean and beautiful facility, developed in terms of organizational structure and achieved very encouraging results. Up to now, thousands of students of the school have become cadres, civil servants, public employees (officers, soldiers of the Army; officers, soldiers of the Police; doctors; engineers, ...) working in the city and other provinces. Many of them returned to their hometowns to become officials working in mountainous communes of the City. Happily, former students have returned to continue accompanying the school in training and educating ethnic minority children.
