Da Nang starts construction of social housing project with more than 1,800 apartments

On August 28, the People's Committee of Da Nang City started the Ecohome Hoa Hiep Social Housing project at land plots B4-1, B4-2, area 4.2 hectares, total investment capital 2,125 billion VND.

The project consists of 3 buildings with 1,851 apartments, including 1,476 social apartments and 375 commercial apartments, expected to be completed in 2029. The project integrates many internal and external facilities, serving the residential needs of residents, especially workers.

Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh emphasized that Da Nang needs to speed up progress to complete the target of 28,955 social housing units by 2030, 2,676 units by 2025 alone, while continuing to cut administrative procedures and ensuring favorable land funds to attract investment.

Da Nang cooperates with many partners to develop an international financial center.

On August 28, at the Vietnam Annual Financial Forum 2025, Da Nang signed cooperation agreements with many domestic and foreign enterprises to develop an international financial center.

Many businesses are willing to support Da Nang city in building an international financial center.

The city cooperates with Vietcombank in investment promotion; with Tether and SSI to research and perfect mechanisms and policies related to Bitcoin, blockchain, and digital assets; with Apex Group UP to connect global capital markets; with ARK Global Corp to build a digital financial investment handbook; and with VNPAY to provide digital payment solutions.

These agreements are expected to help Da Nang become a strategic financial and technological destination, attracting investment funds and international financial institutions.

Proposal to invest 23,950 billion VND to build Vinh - Thanh Thuy expressway

Nghe An Provincial People's Committee submitted to the Prime Minister for appraisal the Pre-feasibility Study Report of the Vinh - Thanh Thuy Expressway project, with a length of about 60 km and a total preliminary investment of VND 23,950 billion. The route connecting the North - South Expressway with the Thanh Thuy Border Gate Economic Zone, belonging to the East - West Economic Corridor, is part of the Hanoi - Vientiane Expressway.

The project has a scale of 4 lanes, roadbed width of 22 - 24.75 m, site clearance within 6 lanes, land use area of 648 hectares, affecting 2,833 households. The expected capital source is from the central and local budgets for the period 2026 - 2030.

The plan is to be implemented from 2025, construction in 2026, basically completed in 2028 and exploited in 2029, contributing to promoting trade, socio-economic development, national defense and regional connectivity.

Da Nang: Commencement of mechanical industrial park project worth nearly 8,000 billion VND

On August 28, THACO started construction of the Chu Lai Truong Hai Automobile Mechanical Industrial Park expansion in Da Nang, with a total investment of nearly VND8,000 billion on an area of 115 hectares. The project follows the model of a new generation industrial park, green development, automation, integration of digital technology and artificial intelligence, production of high-tech products, automation equipment and mechanical components.

Tay Ninh proposes to prioritize investment in 9 important routes connecting with Ho Chi Minh City

Tay Ninh Department of Construction has proposed that the Provincial People's Committee prioritize investment in 9 key traffic routes connecting with Ho Chi Minh City after the merger. Currently, the two localities have 37 connection points, of which 11 have been agreed upon as priority, but only 2 routes have been completed.

Tay Ninh has proactively invested in many major roads such as DT.823D and the East-West axis, but Ho Chi Minh City has not implemented them synchronously, causing difficulties in trade.

Ho Chi Minh City is expanding National Highway 50 to connect synchronously with Tay Ninh.

Sun Group starts project to "activate" Da Nang Free Trade Zone

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam proposed the Ministry of Construction to appraise and approve the planning of Tuy Hoa Airport for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. Accordingly, the airport will reach level 4C, with a capacity of 3 million passengers/year by 2030 and 5 million passengers/year by 2050, operating A320, A321, and B737 aircraft.

The total land use area is about 691 hectares. In 2024, the airport served 432,219 passengers, far exceeding the old plan, showing that the need for expansion is urgent.

Proposal for central budget to support 8,803 billion VND to build Cam Lo - Lao Bao expressway

Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee proposed the Central Government to support 8,803 billion VND from the budget to implement Cam Lo - Lao Bao expressway under the PPP form, with a total investment of 13,939 billion VND. The route is 56 km long, has 4 lanes, and a design speed of 100 km/h, connecting Cam Lo - La Son expressway to Lao Bao border gate.

The State capital participating in the project accounts for 68% (VND 9,479 billion), of which the locality committed to allocate VND 676 billion for site clearance, the rest is supported by the Central Government; the investor mobilized 32% of the capital. The project has been added to the list of important national projects, the expected time for collecting tolls to recover capital is nearly 21 years.

Approval of route plan for section C8 - C10 of urban railway line No. 2

The Hanoi People's Committee has just approved the plan for metro line 2, section C8 - C10, to replace the old plan. The route will go underground through Hang Duong, Hang Ngang, Hang Dao streets, Hoan Kiem Lake area, Dinh Tien Hoang, Hang Bai, with a parallel tunnel design, later converted to a stacked form. The section has three main stations: C8 remains according to the 2014 plan; C9 (Hoan Kiem Lake) is more than 7,700 m² wide, 4 floors, located underground under Dinh Tien Hoang street; C10 (Tran Hung Dao) is more than 5,400 m² wide, connecting in a cross shape with station S13 of line 3.

Phu Tho requests support of 11,563.2 billion VND for land clearance for Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway

The People's Committee of Phu Tho province requested the Ministry of Construction to report to competent authorities to arrange 11,563.2 billion VND for compensation, support and resettlement of the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway route passing through the province, of which 800 billion VND is needed in 2025.

The route through Phu Tho is 99.1 km long, passing through 5 wards and 15 communes. The province said that local budgets are difficult and cannot provide capital in advance. Currently, 4/6 localities through which the route passes have completed mapping, 3 provinces of Lao Cai, Phu Tho, and Hai Phong are implementing the construction of 109 resettlement areas, with 86 expected to start construction in December 2025. Early capital allocation is considered urgent to ensure the progress of key projects.

Ho Chi Minh City sets deadline for BT project worth over 1,000 billion VND that has been "frozen" for 5 years

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requested Hiep Binh and Tam Binh wards to hand over the clean land before September 30 to construct the connecting route from Pham Van Dong Street to Go Dua intersection. Quang Ninh removes difficulties and obstacles for the 2.2 billion USD LNG power project

On August 25, the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province worked with the locality and relevant units to remove obstacles in compensation and site clearance for the Quang Ninh LNG Power Plant Project in Cua Ong ward.

The total area to be recovered is 41.12 hectares, but some households have not yet agreed, affecting the progress. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Anh requested to review legal documents, publicize the compensation plan, have direct dialogue with the people, and complete procedures in September 2025 to hand over the site.

The project has a total investment of 2.2 billion USD, a capacity of 1,500 MW, is expected to generate 9 billion kWh/year and contribute about 57,700 billion VND to the budget in 25 years.

Agreed to invest early in the 46.8 km long Hung Yen - Thai Binh Expressway (CT.16)

The Ministry of Construction has just proposed to the Prime Minister to allow adjusting the investment progress of the Hung Yen - Thai Binh Expressway (CT.16) section from Ring Road 4 (Hung Yen) to Ring Road 5 (Ninh Binh) to be implemented before 2030.

The 46.8 km long route is currently only a grade II road, with 4 lanes and a traffic capacity of about 20,000 vehicles per day and night. It has many intersections at the same level, causing overload and potential safety risks.

The project has been allocated 170 billion VND from the central budget revenue increase in 2024, the remaining capital will be balanced in the period 2026-2030. The early investment aims to meet the rapidly increasing transportation demand, improve traffic capacity and ensure traffic safety.

Inauguration of the project to expand the 880,000 tons/year sand and quartz processing factory in Hue

On the morning of August 29, Hue Premium Silica Company Limited (HPS) - a member of Viet Phuong Group inaugurated a new production line to expand the factory processing sand and high-quality low-iron quartz powder in Phong Thai ward, Hue city.

The project has a total investment of 800 billion VND, an area of 7.3 hectares, increasing the capacity from 440,000 tons/year to 880,000 tons/year. After nearly a year of construction, the project was completed on schedule, meeting technical, environmental and labor safety standards.

Hue City leaders assessed the project as an important milestone, contributing to improving industrial production capacity, participating in the global silica value chain, creating jobs and budget revenue. The government is committed to accompanying and supporting businesses in sustainable development.
