(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the morning of March 11, the Military Command (CHQS) of Duong Kinh district coordinated with the District Veterans Association, Viettel Military Telecommunications Group - Duong Kinh Branch to organize the groundbreaking ceremony to build a house for the family of veteran Do Manh Hung, residing in Hung Dao ward, Duong Kinh district, Hai Phong city.

Veteran Do Manh Hung and his wife, veteran Do Thi Xuyen, both participated in the Resistance War against the US to save the country. The 40m2 house the family is living in was built a long time ago and is seriously degraded, with a constant risk of being unsafe to live in. However, due to difficult economic circumstances, advanced age, and poor health, the family does not have the means to repair or upgrade it.

Understanding the family's situation, after a period of surveying and planning, the Military Command of Duong Kinh District coordinated with the District Veterans Association, Viettel Military Telecommunications Group - Duong Kinh Branch to demolish the old house, start construction, and rebuild the house with the hope that the family will soon have a solid house and a stable life. This is one of many activities that the Military Command of the District has been and is coordinating with local organizations to celebrate the anniversary of the complete Liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2024), the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory - demonstrating the affection and responsibility of the district's military officers and soldiers, the care of Party committees at all levels, authorities, departments, branches, and organizations for people with meritorious services and policy families of the locality./.
