At the Ho Chi Minh City Command, in the last days of May, nearly 200 female militiamen selected to join the Southern female guerrilla bloc are urgently practicing to participate in the parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), abbreviated as mission A80.

According to Major Nguyen Minh Toan, Training Assistant of the General Staff Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Command, the unit is currently organizing training for the Southern female guerrillas to participate in the parade and march in the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
The Southern female guerilla bloc has a total of 188 soldiers, organized for training in 2 phases. Phase 1 takes place from May 5 to June 3 at the Ho Chi Minh City Command. On the afternoon of June 4, the entire bloc will move by train from Saigon station to the National Military Training Center 4 (Chuong My district, Hanoi) to enter the second phase of training.
The female militia were recruited largely from the troops who participated in mission A70 (the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory) and mission A50 (the 50th anniversary of national reunification).

Major Toan said that in this training formation, about 30% of the soldiers were new, never having participated in previous parades. Therefore, the unit was divided into two separate formations: one team consisted of experienced soldiers, who were focused on advanced training (steps 2 and 3); the other team consisted of new soldiers, who were given basic training from the beginning (steps 1 to 3).
Up to now, the soldiers have basically met the requirements and are practicing coordination in 2-5 rows, keeping distance, steps and horizontal lines steady according to the lines.

At the National Military Training Center 4, the soldiers continued to practice with music, supplementary exercises and slow practice to get used to the large-scale parade formation (16 rows x 10 people). Despite many difficulties with the unpredictable weather in Ho Chi Minh City, the whole team still maintained their determination and high training spirit.
The Southern female guerilla force has been selected many times to participate in important parades of the country such as the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory, 50th anniversary of national reunification ... In this training session, once again the Ministry of National Defense and Military Region 7 continue to trust and assign the task to Ho Chi Minh City to organize this special parade.

Major Nguyen Minh Toan shared that the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City always paid special attention to the female guerrillas. From the preparation and training stages to before moving to the North, the leaders at all levels regularly visited and encouraged them mentally.
The Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union, the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union and other departments and localities also accompanied and provided practical support: giving Ao Dai, gifts, and organizing meetings to encourage the troops before the departure day.
The Ho Chi Minh City Command also advised Ho Chi Minh City to organize delegations to visit and encourage soldiers during their training at the National Military Training Center 4.
Captain Phan Huu Trung Quy, a trainer for the Southern female guerrillas in mission A80, said the process of selecting and training the force went through many stages, in which the teaching team and the management board closely coordinated to check the input quality, ensuring criteria on health, spirit and ability to learn.
There are about 60 soldiers in the formation who have participated in important parade missions before such as A50, A70. However, to ensure uniformity, the entire force is retrained from the basics: from hand-to-hand combat, walking in sync, practicing slowly step by step from 1-3 steps, 3-5 steps, then moving on to large formation training.
During the training process, teachers of the Ho Chi Minh City Command always give detailed instructions to soldiers.

"Despite the difficult weather, unpredictable sunshine and rain, the female militia members clearly identified their tasks, actively practiced, learned quickly, studied hard, and even researched more to perfect their movements. This is a very admirable spirit," Captain Quy shared.
The teaching staff highly appreciated the spirit of self-awareness, patriotism, solidarity and high responsibility of the female militia.
The slogan "overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain, and practicing enthusiastically" is remembered by heart by the female militia to successfully complete their tasks.

"In the upcoming A80 parade, the expectation of all leaders, cadres and teachers is that the female guerrillas will continue to promote that spirit, demonstrating the solemnity, strength, beauty and rich identity of Southern women. We believe that the Southern female guerrillas will successfully complete the parade mission, bringing pride to Ho Chi Minh City and leaving a deep impression in the hearts of the people of Hanoi," said Captain Quy.
It is an honor to participate in the parade.

Having the honor of participating in a major national event for the second time, Pham Thi Anh Thu (22 years old, student at Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology) shared: "At the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification, I was part of the standing group of the female militia and self-defense force of Binh Duong province. That time, I stood in the ceremonial group, witnessed each parade passing by in a solemn atmosphere, and was extremely moved. This time, I was chosen in the group marching past the stage, in the role of a female guerrilla from the South. I believe that the whole group will complete the task well and leave a beautiful image in the hearts of the people of the capital."

Compared to the first time, the mission in this A80 parade has a higher training intensity, a larger formation size and requires more techniques. Currently, Anh Thu and the whole group are in the basic training phase: handshake, marching in sync, keeping in line.
"For me, being able to join the Southern female guerilla bloc and participate in a great national ceremony is not only a source of pride for me but also a source of joy and pride for my family, teachers and friends," Anh Thu said.
