It is expected that in the near future, the wild, overgrown land will be turned into a modern, convenient park, serving the entertainment needs of the people.

On November 2, speaking with Giao Thong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Luu Van Tan, Director of Thu Duc City Technical Infrastructure Development Center, said that the Standing Committee of the People's Committee and the Thu Duc City Party Committee (HCMC) have approved the proposal for the renovation and operation of the Saigon River bank park (section from Ba Son Bridge to Thu Thiem Bridge), Thu Thiem Ward, Thu Duc City, HCMC.

This is a proposal to renovate about 10 hectares of land along the Saigon River with a length of more than 1.1 km and a width of 100-120 m to create a Creative Park. The park, after completion, is expected to have a number of main items such as an event area, a central park, a jogging/biking path connecting the entire riverside area, an operator and utility building, a parking lot, etc.

According to the reporter of Giao Thong Newspaper, the existing land is natural vegetation, has uneven terrain, gradually sloping towards the Saigon River bank.

Some locations have low-lying terrain, are flooded, have many types of naturally growing plants, lots of weeds, trash and debris.

Most of the area is covered with dense, lush reeds. This is a contrast to the other side of the Saigon River, where high-rise buildings soar into the sky, and every night, the bright lights reflect on the water, creating a bustling, modern urban scene.

In addition, the garbage brought by local people is thrown haphazardly, piling up in many places among the dense reeds. Plastic bags, bottles, and other scraps are scattered everywhere, destroying the natural wildness and making the area messy.

Thu Duc City Technical Infrastructure Development Center said that there are currently about 6 households in the area that have not been relocated. In the coming time, related units will mobilize and relocate them to carry out the renovation and improvement of the area.

Mr. Luu Van Tan said that next week, the unit will submit a proposal for the renovation and operation of the Saigon River Park to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee. In the meantime, the unit will clean up and clear the area. Once approved by the City People's Committee, the unit will begin implementation.

According to the proposal, the project to renovate and operate the Creative Park along the Saigon River will be implemented in the form of socialization. It is expected to be completed before Tet At Ty 2025. When completed, the park will be arranged with green grass, walking paths, riverside jogging paths interspersed with multi-purpose fields, relaxation chairs...

It can be seen that the proposed area for park construction has a prime location, facing the Saigon River, facing Ba Son Park and Ba Son villa area, Ben Nghe ward, Him Lam Golf course...

If built, the vacant, wild land full of reeds will become a modern, green park; a playground and relaxation area for city residents.
