Encouraging learning to promote the role of connecting and accompanying educational development

Over the years, the Provincial Association for Promotion of Education has actively and effectively mobilized social resources inside and outside the province to support students and schools in difficulty, contributing to improving the quality of teaching and learning. From these resources, many new schools have been built, teaching equipment has been supplemented, and thousands of scholarships have been timely provided to students in the highlands. Thereby, contributing to arousing the tradition of studiousness and the sense of responsibility of the community towards the cause of education.

Coming to Coc Lau commune with the delegation of the Provincial Association for Promotion of Education, we met Ban Van Truong again - who lost his house and two loved ones, his grandfather and father, in the flood of 2024. Immediately after the flood, understanding his difficult situation, the Association for Promotion of Education at all levels promptly mobilized businesses and philanthropists to join hands to support and award scholarships, and regularly visited and encouraged him to continue his studies. Now, in the middle of the schoolyard, smiles have gradually returned to Ban Van Truong.

Truong emotionally shared: When I lost my house and my loved ones, I felt like everything was collapsing. With the encouragement and help of teachers, staff, and members of the Association for Promotion of Education, I gradually overcame the difficulties, tried to study well, and later could help people in difficult circumstances like me.

Also receiving timely attention from the Association for Promotion of Education, Lai Nhan Kiet in Yen Bai ward overcame adversity and continued to go to school. Orphaned at an early age, Kiet lived with his grandmother. She was often sick and had no stable income, so he was at risk of having to drop out of school. But thanks to the gifts, especially the support of more than 200 million VND from the connection and social mobilization resources of the Provincial Association for Promotion of Education, Kiet was able to go to class with peace of mind and gradually realize his dream of studying.

Nhan Kiet expressed: If it weren't for the help of the Association for Promotion of Education, I would probably have had to drop out of school. I will try to study hard so that I can have a stable job in the future to help my grandmother and other children in difficult circumstances.

The stories of Truong and Kiet are just two slices of the larger picture of the education promotion work in the province. Every year, the Education Promotion Association at all levels has called on and mobilized philanthropists and sponsors inside and outside the province to join and care for poor students and students in difficult circumstances. Thanks to that, tens of thousands of gifts worth billions of VND have been given to students in difficult circumstances on the occasion of the opening and closing of the school year, holidays, New Year or students in suddenly difficult circumstances.

Mr. Trieu Tien Thinh - Chairman of the Provincial Association for Promotion of Education said: Along with mobilizing social support for students in difficult circumstances, the association also mobilizes support for schools to build facilities and purchase teaching and learning equipment. Each scholarship and each completed school building is the result of solidarity and sharing from many hearts inside and outside the province. More importantly, it is the timely encouragement that helps teachers and students, especially in remote areas, feel secure in teaching and studying, continuing to nurture the desire for lifelong learning.

Since the beginning of the year, the Provincial Association for Promotion of Education has received and donated more than 300 textbooks, skill books, 200 story books, 860 notebooks and 500 learning tools; given gifts to nearly 32,100 students, teachers, and self-studying adults with a total amount of over 6.5 billion VND; donated learning tools, clothes, books... worth over 2 billion VND; supported the construction of facilities worth nearly 6 billion VND. Behind the numbers are the efforts of all levels of the Association for Promotion of Education, from calling for resources to trips to remote areas to personally deliver each book, set of clothes, and learning tools. Each gift, each completed project not only provides timely material support but also encourages the spirit, adding motivation for teachers and students to firmly step on the path of sowing and reaping knowledge, thereby strongly spreading the movement to promote learning and talent throughout the province.

It can be seen that when each hand joins hands and each heart is shared, the Lao Cai education promotion movement will not stop at the numbers of support but will also become a sustainable source of motivation for educational development. In the coming time, the Provincial Education Promotion Association will continue to promote social mobilization, expand scholarship programs, support investment in facilities, so that more and more students and schools can be motivated and have more confidence, while contributing to improving the quality of teaching and learning in the province.
