Tightly control the business of counterfeit trademark goods

Manufacturing and trading counterfeit goods, infringing intellectual property rights, and counterfeiting trademarks are illegal acts that cause great damage to the interests of consumers as well as legitimate businesses. Therefore, the functional forces in the province have been implementing many measures and developing many inspection and control plans to combat violations in this field.

Recently, on June 5, 2025, Market Management Team No. 4 conducted a surprise inspection of two motorcycle spare parts businesses in Hong Dan and Phuoc Long districts, thereby discovering that these households had signs of trading in counterfeit goods of protected trademarks in Vietnam, namely Honda and Yamaha. The total quantity of infringing goods discovered was 4 types of motorcycle spare parts products with 60 units of goods. The inspection team made a record of temporary seizure of exhibits, continued to verify, and completed the dossier for handling in accordance with the provisions of law.

According to the provincial Market Management Department, although the unit has coordinated with the authorities to strengthen inspection and handling of violations, the situation of trading in counterfeit goods, fake goods, goods infringing on intellectual property, and counterfeiting of brands is still complicated, sophisticated and present in many segments of the market. Violating goods focus on fashion items, clothes, shoes, bags, watches, cosmetics... In addition to counterfeiting products of famous brands in the world, goods of domestic manufacturing enterprises are also counterfeited by the trick of importing poor quality goods from abroad to label the origin of Vietnamese products.

In particular, the provincial Market Management Department is focusing on inspection and control in areas with high risk of violations such as pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, functional foods, milk, fertilizers and other essential goods. In addition, it is necessary to strengthen inspection and control of business activities via social networks, e-commerce platforms, livestreams, places with potential risks of goods of unknown origin, counterfeit goods and infringement of intellectual property rights. In addition, the Market Management force also strengthens supervision at warehouses, gathering points, means of transport and distribution systems such as wholesale markets, supermarkets, and shopping centers, ensuring timely detection and handling of violations right from the circulation stage.
