Accordingly, the Working Group will advise on resolving complicated cases related to land, mineral resources, and construction order; review difficult and complicated cases, promptly detect shortcomings in the implementation of policies, laws, and state management to promptly recommend remedies...

The Working Group has the right to request competent authorities to provide information and documents related to cases that need to be resolved and handled. If necessary, the Heads of agencies and units are requested to directly direct the provision of information and documents to serve the Group's request.

Previously, in June 2022, the People's Committee of Kien Giang province established a special working group to inspect and handle violations of the law on land, forestry and construction in Phu Quoc city. Up to now, this working group has inspected and detected 1,744 violations of state-managed land and forest land with an area of ​​685 hectares (encroachment, illegal construction).

Of which, local authorities handled 1,020 administrative cases, 15 criminal cases, and 23 subjects. The locality recovered an area of ​​198.6 hectares. Of which, the State-managed land was more than 85 hectares; protective forest land was more than 11 hectares, and special-use forest land was more than 100 hectares.

Phu Quoc City currently has about 420 illegal subdivisions (not yet approved by competent authorities for project investment policies or granted infrastructure construction permits) with a total area of ​​194.97 hectares. In the above subdivisions, there are currently more than 900 houses. In addition, Phu Quoc City Forest Protection Department has handled 681 cases of forest encroachment and deforestation with an area of ​​256.2 hectares, and has so far handled 21 cases with 37 subjects...
