Proposal to unify new ward and commune signs

This is one of the very notable recommendations and proposals of Long Bien district officials at the working session with Working Group No. 5 of Hanoi People's Committee.

On the morning of June 18, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha led Working Group No. 5 to direct and guide the arrangement of the (new) commune-level administrative unit to work with Long Bien district.

At the meeting, Working Group No. 5 listened to officials, district leaders and departments, and comrades expected to be chairmen of the People's Committees of the four new wards express their opinions on the difficulties and problems in organizing the new ward apparatus.

In addition to recommendations and proposals related to headquarters, arrangement of facilities, handover of finance, budget, projects, Long Bien district officials also proposed a number of issues related to names, signs... In particular, Vice Chairwoman of Long Bien District People's Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Hang proposed that the city unify the signs of new wards and communes throughout the city and guide the naming of residential groups with the same name and number when wards are merged.

Regarding the issue of signs, Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs Nguyen Chi Doan said that currently there is no guidance on a common standard model, so localities still follow the spirit of promoting creativity to implement.

However, in the conclusion of the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha requested Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs Nguyen Chi Doan to report to the Department Director on this issue to advise the City People's Committee on specific and unified instructions for the entire city, in the direction that if there are no general instructions, it is necessary to issue temporary instructions, regulating both the content and form of signs, to avoid the situation where each place has its own style.

Regarding the content of naming residential groups, Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs Nguyen Chi Doan said that this content is specifically regulated in the Law on Organization of Local Government and is under the authority of the Ward People's Council.
