Phuc Yen focuses on developing industry and civilized urban areas

Implementing the 2-level local government model, Phuc Yen ward was established on the basis of merging 5 wards: Hai Ba Trung, Tien Chau, Hung Vuong, Phuc Thang, Nam Viem of Phuc Yen city, Vinh Phuc province (old). The administrative boundary merger has expanded new space for Phuc Yen to plan larger-scale industrial and urban areas, thereby creating a solid foundation for the sustainable development of the locality.

Phuc Yen Ward has implemented many solutions to improve urban quality, especially synchronous and modern urban beautification work.

As a key economic zone, it concentrates many large enterprises, including many 100% foreign-invested enterprises: Toyota Vietnam Company, Honda Vietnam , Toyota Boshoku... which has created an important role for Phuc Yen ward in industrial development and is one of the localities with large contributions to the State budget.

Carrying out the key task of economic development, Phuc Yen ward focuses resources to complete the assigned targets. In particular, focusing on shifting the economic structure towards increasing the proportion of the service and trade sectors. By 2025, the total economic value of industry and construction of Phuc Yen will reach over 90%; services and tourism will reach 9.25%. The industry continues to play a key role and is oriented to shift to clean, high-tech industry. The production, trade and service sectors have developed, with an average production value of 15.84%.

By 2025, the ward will have more than 350 enterprises with a total registered capital of thousands of billions of VND. Investment projects of enterprises are mainly in the fields of industry, trade, services, and tourism , contributing to promoting economic growth in the right direction, creating jobs, and increasing revenue for the local budget.

In order to develop civilized urban areas, over the past years, the locality has paid attention to urban planning, planning management, and investment, focusing on implementing many key construction projects, mobilizing investment resources, and upgrading urban technical infrastructure systems.

By 2025, Phuc Yen ward will manage 144 projects with a total investment of more than 2,500 billion VND. Of which, 11 technical infrastructure projects will be implemented such as: Renovation of parks, trees, stadiums; construction and repair of cultural works serving the people (Workers' Cultural House Project; renovation and repair of cultural houses of residential groups; construction of Model Cultural Village); investment in lighting and decoration projects; upgrading of traffic infrastructure systems...

Along with planning, investment, and upgrading of urban technical infrastructure systems, environmental protection work is focused on, domestic waste in the ward is collected and treated properly. Hazardous waste generated from production facilities in the ward is contracted by waste source owners with functional units to collect and treat according to regulations.

The ward has invested in a centralized wastewater treatment system in Nam Viem ward (old) with a treatment capacity of 250m3/day and night. Actively directing the development and implementation of the Project on classifying domestic waste and treating organic waste in the ward, period 2022-2025, orientation to 2030; Project on Planning for Water Surface Use to 2025, vision to 2030.

In residential groups, civilized lifestyles have been built with many self-managed streets and roads; the "Green Sunday" movement has been launched, attracting the participation of many people, contributing to preserving the environment, cultural lifestyle, and urban civilization.

Toyota Vietnam Company is one of the FDI enterprises operating in Phuc Yen ward, making a large contribution to the State budget.

Entering the new period of implementation of tasks, with the tradition of solidarity and unity within the Party, consensus among the people and political stability continuing to be the conditions and driving force to promote local socio-economic development.

The ward Party Committee focuses on leadership and direction to create a favorable environment to attract investment and develop the economy stably and sustainably. Coordinate and direct the acceleration of site clearance work in Phuc Yen Industrial Park to work with the Provincial People's Committee to create conditions for FDI enterprises to expand production.

Strengthening the work of attracting investment into industrial zones with high-tech, environmentally friendly products. Focusing on handling difficulties and removing bottlenecks in all sectors and fields; improving capacity and efficiency in disbursing public investment capital and settling completed projects. Highly focusing on implementing large projects and key projects approved by the province, creating positive changes in the urban landscape.

Identifying industrial development as the key economic sector, the Party Committee and People's Committee of the ward focus on directing and creating conditions to attract investment in industrial parks in the area. In particular, focusing on developing the automobile and motorbike manufacturing and assembly industry; developing supporting industries; construction industry, consumer goods.

Implement transparency, publicity and reduce administrative procedures in the field of land, basic construction investment, improve competitiveness index to attract investment for industrial development. Invest in developing modern urban infrastructure system with the goal of creating a breakthrough in improving urban quality, especially urban beautification, including undergrounding power lines and information cables.

Implementing public welfare projects such as building the green park of Dieu lagoon, works serving social security; building a People's cemetery; urban water supply and drainage system; treating environmental pollution and urban waste; implementing the construction of regional traffic infrastructure... contributing to ensuring the synchronous and modern socio-economic development of Phuc Yen ward.
