Celebrating the 115th anniversary of International Women's Day and the 1,985th anniversary of the Trung Sisters' Uprising

On the morning of February 28, at the Provincial Labor Culture House, the Provincial Women's Union (VWU) organized a celebration of the 115th anniversary of International Women's Day (March 8, 1910 - March 8, 2025) and the 1,985th anniversary of the Hai Ba Trung uprising (April 4, 2025); summarizing the online photo contest "Charming Ao Dai" and the program "Giving Ao Dai, Sending Love"; folk dance performance and Ao Dai parade.

At the ceremony, cadres, members and women together reviewed the tradition of International Women's Day March 8, the heroic spirit of the Hai Ba Trung uprising and the heroic feats of Vietnamese women in the resistance wars against foreign invaders to protect the Fatherland. Along with the maturity of women across the country, in recent years, thoroughly grasping the policies of the Party and the State; with the attention and facilitation of Party committees and authorities at all levels; cadres, members and women at all levels have constantly innovated, promoted the good tradition of striving to rise up, contributing their efforts and intelligence to the cause of innovation and development of the province. In patriotic emulation movements, women are always the core force, overcoming difficulties, actively striving to improve their qualifications and capacity to excellently complete all assigned tasks; at the same time still fulfilling their duties as wives and mothers, building family happiness.

In the context of the country entering a new era, the Provincial Women's Union and cadres, members and women at all levels in the province will promote the spirit of solidarity, creativity, constantly strive to improve, demonstrate the desire to contribute talent, intelligence and efforts, contributing to the development of Thai Binh .

On this occasion, the Provincial Women's Union also launched many meaningful and practical activities and called on cadres, members and women to respond to "Ao Dai Week" in 2025 from March 1-8, 2025.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee summarized and awarded the online photo contest with the theme "Charming Ao Dai" for union officials at all levels in 2025. Accordingly, there were 52 individual works and 19 collective works winning prizes out of a total of 1,386 entries.

The program “Giving Ao Dai, Sending Love” organized by the Provincial Women’s Union in coordination with the Provincial Labor Federation received a total of 5,555 Ao Dai sets. All the Ao Dai received will be given to members and women in difficult circumstances in the province.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Nguyen Tien Thanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council emphasized: Over the years, Thai Binh women have always preserved the good qualities of Vietnamese women, making important contributions to the implementation of patriotic emulation movements and the general development of the province as well as of each locality.

He acknowledged and commended the achievements of the Women's Union at all levels in recent times; requested that female cadres and members always be exemplary, build an environment of solidarity, cohesion, and determination to successfully carry out assigned tasks; closely follow the political tasks of the locality, especially the dissemination of movements: folk dance, garbage collection, building a cultural and civilized lifestyle, and building a green - clean - beautiful environment. Unions at all levels care for, look after, and protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of women, especially women and children in difficult circumstances; build an increasingly strong union organization, truly a source of energy and support for women in the whole province.

He hopes that women will always be young, beautiful, confident, and graceful; strive to achieve the standards of women in the new era: "Confident, self-respecting, loyal, and responsible", preserve the nation's fine traditional culture, be the "fire keepers" in the family, and build a warm and happy family.
