Lam Dong strives to be a green paradise by 2030 with the attraction of being the leading resort, ecological, health care, and high-end sports tourism center in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
The Prime Minister has just approved the planning of Lam Dong province for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, in which tourism will be the province's spearhead economic sector towards high quality and sustainability, creating momentum for the development of green economy, circular economy, digital economy, and creative industry.
Da Lat city and its vicinity will become a high-quality tourist city, developing a modern, international-class night-time economy. Bao Loc city and its vicinity will be a satellite, a regional tourism center with the leading types of ecology, resorts, medical treatment, and sports health care in Vietnam. These tourist areas will build brands and competitiveness domestically and internationally.
Six tourism product groups are focused on development in Lam Dong, including: resorts, medical treatment, health care, high-end sports such as golf, horse racing, dog racing; ecology, adventure; agriculture, rural areas; culture, spirituality; urban; and creativity.

By 2050, Lam Dong province will be a modern, distinctive, green, smart, livable city directly under the central government. The agricultural sector is focused on building a national and international high-tech production research center. Forest ecosystems are restored, protected, and developed sustainably in association with biodiversity conservation and water security. People will have increased income from forest environmental services to improve their lives.
Lam Dong is a mountainous province in the South Central Highlands, covering an area of over 9,760 km2, with an average altitude of 800-1,500 m above sea level and a population of 1.23 million. It is famous for Da Lat city - the administrative, economic, political and social center of the province. In addition to its year-round cool climate, the province has many tourism resources such as lakes, waterfalls, pine forests, and architecture of high cultural and artistic value.
The whole province has nearly 750 accommodation establishments, 29 travel and tourism transportation businesses, and 60 free sightseeing spots. There are many cultural festivals such as gongs, new rice celebrations, buffalo stabbing, Da Lat flower festival, and Lam Dong tea festival.
