Wishing to share love with those in especially difficult circumstances regarding living conditions and housing, some people in Nguyen Binh Khiem commune (East of Hai Phong ) joined hands to establish a club called "Thien Tu Tam" associated with the program "giving rice, sharing clothes". This meaningful activity not only brings practical gifts but also spreads the value of humanity in the community.

Lonely people get help

Joy, excitement, and less burden in life are the emotions that Mrs. Pham Thi Do (80 years old, in Nguyen Binh Khiem commune) feels when she regularly receives attention and monthly food and food support. Her situation is very difficult, although she is old, she does not have the conditions to enjoy her old age, currently living with her sister, without husband or children to take care of her, the house is cramped and poor. Anyone who visits feels sorry and expresses sympathy. Understanding her hardship, every month, the club gives Mrs. Do 200,000 VND and 10 kg of rice to help her cover her living expenses.

Sharing the same fate of having no one to rely on in old age, the situation of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Tiu (82 years old, in Vinh Am commune) makes the neighbors feel sad. Mrs. Tiu currently lives alone, her limbs are weak and she cannot do heavy labor, so her life is full of difficulties. The periodic gift that the club gives her, worth 350 thousand VND, helps her somewhat reduce her worries about food and money.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Yen (41 years old), a club member who regularly participates in charity gift giving programs, shared that after field trips, she realized that there are still many poor people living in poverty, lacking food and clothing, with houses in disrepair but no conditions to repair them.

What the club members feel most deeply about are the broken families, the elderly, the weak, the lonely and facing many worries. Although the material value is not great, these meaningful gifts become a spiritual support, encouraging them to have faith in life.

These are just 2 of about 15 cases of poor households and those in especially difficult circumstances that have been supported over the years. According to Mr. Bui Minh Tien - representative of the club, "Thien Tu Tam" has more than 10 members who are children of Nguyen Binh Khiem commune, living and working in the city.

The program “sharing rice and clothes” is implemented with gifts mainly in cash and food given directly every month. On holidays and Tet, families also receive additional necessities, food, and candy, bringing complete joy. Club members not only voluntarily contribute money, but also mobilize relatives, friends, and benefactors to participate, contributing to the development of a sustainable fund.

Multiply meaningful work

With the motto of connecting and sharing love, the "Thien Tu Tam" Club does not discriminate on age, circumstances or regions to help. When having accurate information, members are ready to support each other anytime, anywhere.

For example, in August 2024, the club gave 41 million VND to Ms. Dao Thi Duyen (39 years old, in Linh Dong 3 village, Vinh Hai commune), who is being treated at Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital. Ms. Duyen unfortunately had a traffic accident, had to have her kidney removed, had her ribs broken, her liver crushed, and had to undergo long-term examination and treatment, while her family's conditions were difficult, her mother and younger brother both had serious illnesses.

The club also promptly called for more than 75 million VND via social networks to help Nguyen Duc Duy (in Tran Hai village, Nguyen Binh Khiem commune) who had an accident; connected with a number of volunteer groups in the East of Hai Phong, supported funding for relief programs for people in the Central region affected by natural disasters, storms and floods, and organized a volunteer trip to the highlands at the end of the year.

Recently, in response to the fundraising program to support the Cuban people on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the "Thien Tu Tam" Club connected benefactors to transfer 5 million VND to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross . Each member, depending on their conditions, actively participated in contributing resources, spreading noble gestures, demonstrating solidarity and sharing in difficult times.

The program “sharing food and clothes” not only provides material support but also sows trust and spreads humanistic values. The kindness of club members is increasingly multiplied, becoming a living proof of the spirit of sharing for the community.
