Provincial People's Committee leaders met to listen to a report on the progress of preparations for the 2024 Congress of ethnic minorities at district and provincial levels.

On May 30, comrade Nguyen Long Bien, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee (SC) of the 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities (EMs) of Ninh Thuan province in 2024 chaired a meeting to listen to a report on the progress of preparations for the 4th Congress of EMs at district and provincial levels in Ninh Thuan in 2024.

Up to now, the preparation for the organization of the district and provincial congresses has been going smoothly. The Provincial Ethnic Committee (standing agency) has proactively coordinated with departments, branches, sectors and localities to advise the Provincial People's Committee, the Steering Committee and the congress organizing committee to promptly issue guiding documents, implement and direct according to the set schedule.

According to the plan, the congresses of ethnic minority delegates of the districts: Bac Ai, Ninh Son, Ninh Phuoc, Ninh Hai, Thuan Bac, Thuan Nam will be held in June 2024. The 4th Congress of ethnic minority delegates of Ninh Thuan province in 2024 will be held at the Provincial People's Committee Hall for 2 days, completed before November 30, 2024.

Comrade Nguyen Long Bien, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee gave a speech at the meeting.

Concluding the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities at the district and provincial levels in Ninh Thuan in 2024 has important political significance; assessing achievements and results of ethnic work, ethnic policies, infrastructure development, hunger eradication and poverty reduction, and new rural construction in the period of 2019-2024. He requested the Steering Committee and the organizing committee of the district and provincial congresses to prepare a summary report to comprehensively assess all fields and demonstrate political determination; closely follow the Steering Committee's plan to effectively organize the implementation of tasks, ensuring progress in time; review all preparations; and at the same time, promote propaganda work before, during and after the congress. He also requested the Department of Home Affairs to coordinate with the Provincial Ethnic Minorities Committee to carry out emulation and reward work to ensure prescribed norms; Members of the Steering Committee and the Organizing Committee shall carry out their assigned tasks well, coordinate with the Provincial Ethnic Committee and localities to strengthen inspection and urge districts and cities to organize congresses and consultative conferences to elect delegates to congresses at all levels to ensure progress, quality and efficiency. During the implementation process, report any problems to the Steering Committee for timely resolution.
