Emotional flag-raising ceremony of Ho Chi Minh City intellectual delegates in Tan Trao

On September 26, more than 100 intellectual delegates from Ho Chi Minh City saluted the flag at the Tan Trao National Special Relic Site in Tuyen Quang Province. This was an activity within the source trip organized by the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.

The flag-raising ceremony took place in front of Uncle Ho's statue at the Tan Trao special national relic site. The national anthem resounded heroically, moving many intellectual delegates.

After the flag-raising ceremony, Professor - Doctor Bui Chi Buu, former Director of the Southern Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology, gave a speech full of emotion and pride, including the following passage:

"Today, we are even more proud to stand on Tuyen Quang land. Right here, on August 12, 1945, upon receiving the news of Japan's surrender to the Allies, Uncle Ho issued the order for a general uprising throughout the country. This was also a military training ground and a stopover for national delegates attending the National Congress. Notably, on January 6, 1946, the first general election of an independent country - the 1st National Assembly - was also held here.

The journey back to the source is very short but meaningful. "Go and learn" to understand your roots!

We would like to thank the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City and the City Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department for creating conditions for us to truly return to our roots."

Next, the delegation of intellectuals from Ho Chi Minh City visited Na Nua hut. Located in Na Nua forest, Tan Trao commune, Tuyen Quang province. This is where President Ho Chi Minh lived and worked from the end of May to August 22, 1945, preparing for the August general uprising to gain independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.

Besides, the delegation also visited Tan Trao banyan tree and offered incense at Tan Trao communal house.

Tan Trao Communal House today belonging to Tan Trao commune, Tuyen Quang province. Nearly 80 years ago, on August 16 and 17, 1945, the Tan Trao National Congress took place here with the participation of more than 60 delegates representing the three regions of the North, Central and South. The National Congress approved our Party's policy of uprising to seize power and 10 major policies of the Viet Minh, elected the Vietnam National Liberation Committee (ie the provisional government) with leader Ho Chi Minh as Chairman.

On the same day, Mr. Duong Anh Duc, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, and a delegation of Ho Chi Minh City intellectuals offered incense at the Temple of Uncle Ho and key leaders of the Party and State in Tan Quang ward, Tuyen Quang province.

With the theme "Pride of intellectuals in the city named after Uncle Ho", the trip to the source took place from September 23 to 27, 2025, organized by the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.

The journey to the source for Ho Chi Minh City intellectuals in 2025 took place in Cao Bang, Tuyen Quang provinces and Hanoi, with the participation of more than 100 delegates representing socio-political organizations; intellectuals honored by the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Science and Technology Associations; outstanding intellectuals in the fields of health, education - training, science and technology, outstanding young citizens, ...

The city's intellectuals directly visited historical sites - places bearing the mark of President Ho Chi Minh's revolutionary activities and previous generations such as: Pac Bo National Special Relic Site, visiting the tomb of hero martyr Kim Dong (Cao Bang province); offering incense at Uncle Ho's Temple, visiting Tan Trao National Special Relic Site (Tuyen Quang); visiting President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum (Hanoi City)...

According to the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, this is the first trip back to the roots after the merger of Ho Chi Minh City.

The journey back to the source will help to arouse national pride and the will to serve the Fatherland in each participating delegate, especially young intellectuals, to understand more deeply the life and great revolutionary career of President Ho Chi Minh.
