Le Viktor made history, moved by the first goal for U.23 Vietnam

In an interview in both English and Vietnamese, midfielder Le Viktor expressed his pride in scoring in the 2-0 victory of the Vietnam U23 team, opening the 2026 AFC U23 Championship qualifiers.

In the 83rd minute, Le Viktor successfully took advantage of a corner kick combination, received a tactical header from Ly Duc to quickly approach and head the ball close to the goal to score for the U.23 Vietnam team, which was also the "account opening" goal of this midfielder for the U.23 Vietnam team.

That was a historic goal, marking Le Viktor as the first overseas Vietnamese player to score in the U.23 Asian tournament, contributing to the final 2-0 victory over U.23 Bangladesh.

In the first part of his English answer, Le Viktor was emotional: "I was a bit nervous before entering this match with the U.23 Vietnam team. But after scoring, I felt more confident. I'm happy that I scored the first goal for the U.23 Vietnam team. I will try to score more goals."

Le Viktor continued speaking in English: "We had a really good connection in the second half, especially in the last 15 minutes. We created many combinations to threaten the opponent's goal thanks to fast, technical attacks on the wings.

If more accurate, those situations would have created more goals. However, I am satisfied with the way the U.23 Vietnam team created such coordination in the final stages of the match."

Afterwards, perhaps more confident, the midfielder shared emotionally in Vietnamese: "Thank you. I will try to play better for the U.23 Vietnam team."
