Vietnam Open 2025 badminton match schedule today September 14: The fourth time for Thuy Linh!

VHO - Today, September 14, at Nguyen Du Stadium (HCMC), the final matches of the Vietnam Open 2025 Badminton Tournament will take place.

The highlight of this competition day is the women's singles final between Thuy Linh (number 1 seed, world rank 18) and Chinese tennis player - Cai Yan Yan (China, world rank 107).

Thuy Linh has a chance to defend her championship title.

In the semi-finals, Thuy Linh defeated Korean player Kim Min Ji with a score of 2-0 (21-19, 21-16).

Previously, Vietnam's number 1 female tennis player defeated Thai tennis player - Nithittikrai with a score of 2-1 in the quarter-finals, came from behind to win 2-1 against Malaysian opponent - Kisona Selvaduray in round 2 and defeated Liang Ting Yu (Chinese Taipei) in round 1.

Meanwhile, Cai Yan Yan, despite having a low ranking and not being seeded, has shown very good form since the beginning of the tournament.

The Chinese tennis player just had a 2-0 victory over Ashmita Chaliha (India, ranked 211th in the world) in the semi-final match.

On her way to the final, Cai Yan Yan overcame many higher-ranked opponents, notably Indian 5th seed Valyshetty (world rank 62) in round 2.

Historically, Thuy Linh and Cai Yan Yan have never met in an official tournament.

This is the fourth consecutive time Thuy Linh has reached the final of the Vietnam Open. In the previous three times in 2022, 2023 and 2024, Thuy Linh won all of them.

In addition to going to Nguyen Du Stadium to buy tickets, fans can watch the semi-final matches of Vietnam Open 2025 on HTV Sports channel, starting at 1:00 p.m. this afternoon, September 14.

The final match between Thuy Linh is expected to take place at 4:20 p.m., depending on the progress of the previous matches.
