In recent days, social networks have been spreading a clip recording an interesting discovery about Vietnamese passports.
A person used a UV light to examine the passport pages and was surprised to see a series of brilliant images appear, from the countryside, rice fields to famous landmarks across the three regions of the country such as Khue Van Cac ( Hanoi ), Ha Long Bay (Quang Ninh), Dragon Bridge (Da Nang), Thien Mu Pagoda (Hue), Ben Thanh Market (Ho Chi Minh City), Fansipan Peak (Lao Cai)...
Lotus motifs, bronze drums, and dragons from the Ly Dynasty also appear, expressing national identity.
You have to use a UV light to see the watermarked images inside the passport.
In normal lighting conditions, these images almost blend into the background, difficult to see without close observation.
After the clip went viral online, many people tried using different lights to shine on their passports, but not everyone saw the same effect.
An account then shared the secret of needing to use a UV light to get the clearest view.
This discovery was quickly shared on many social networking sites. Many people commented that the Vietnamese passport is not only an entry and exit document but also a delicate work of art, expressing pride in national culture.

Vietnam's new ordinary passport (issued from July 2022) applies security technology according to ICAO standards.
One of the outstanding elements is the UV-fluorescent ink layer, which helps to display hidden details such as the map of Vietnam, ethnic patterns, famous monuments and landscapes, supporting quick verification of authenticity.
According to the Henley Passport Index ranking in the fourth quarter, the Vietnamese passport ranked 92nd in the world , allowing citizens to enter 50 countries and territories without a visa or applying for an e-visa, border visa, or ETA.
