A series of new features will be integrated into VNeID from July 14

(Dan Tri) - VNeID now has a virtual assistant to help people look up administrative procedures and warn of false information and scams taking advantage of administrative unit arrangements.

On the afternoon of July 14, the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order Police (C06 - Ministry of Public Security ) held a ceremony to announce new utilities on the VNeID application and launch the "Digital Handbook" integrating AI virtual assistant.

Outstanding utilities from VNeID

Electronic document integration: VNeID has successfully integrated 06 groups of electronic documents including 18.7 million driver's licenses, 7 million vehicle registrations, 25 million health insurance cards and electronic health books.

Along with that are 1 million marriage status certificates and 581,793 criminal records; helping to reduce the number of documents.

Financial transaction support: The application has issued 182,100 digital signatures, 635,769 bank accounts and 68,281 e-wallets.

Social security payments: More than 2.5 million people have received social security benefits through their accounts with a total amount of more than VND 24,000 billion.

In particular, 78% of pensioners and social insurance beneficiaries have had their pensions and social insurance benefits paid through banks, helping people save about 51 billion VND in travel expenses.

Promoting digital democracy: More than 20 million citizens have participated in giving opinions on amending the 2013 Constitution through a new utility integrated in VNeID.

Colonel Nguyen Quoc Hung, Deputy Director of Department C06, affirmed: "We identify VNeID as not only an electronic identification application, but also a national digital platform, integrating multiple utilities to comprehensively serve people, businesses and state agencies."

VNeID (short for "Vietnam Electronic Identification") is an electronic identification application on mobile devices developed by the National Population Data Center, under the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam. The application has both Android and iOS versions.

The VNeID application was created to replace traditional documents, identifying citizens on a digital platform. Accordingly, VNeID allows the integration of all personal documents of citizens on a digital platform such as: Citizen ID card, driver's license, health insurance card, social insurance card...

This application was officially put into use by the Ministry of Public Security from July 18, 2022.

With the goal of turning VNeID into a super application to serve the national digital transformation process, the National Population Data Center has increasingly integrated many new and useful features into this application.
