Launching the Viettel AI Race 2025 competition for artificial intelligence engineers

On September 30, the Military Industry - Telecommunications Group ( Viettel ) officially launched the Viettel AI Race 2025 competition. This is a large-scale playground for Vietnamese citizens anywhere, interested in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and the desire to solve practical problems with technology.

The competition aims to find, nurture and develop a generation of young AI engineers, ready to contribute to the national digital transformation roadmap and Viettel's key projects.

At the Viettel AI Race 2025, teams will develop products to solve three key groups of problems: Optimizing network operations; Analyzing, extracting, and organizing data from complex text; Identifying and locating packages quickly and accurately; Corresponding to the branches of artificial intelligence are machine learning, natural language processing, and computer vision.

This is an opportunity for young people to turn ideas into products, contributing to solving digital technology problems in reality. By participating in the competition, contestants have the opportunity to interact and exchange with engineers and leading experts in the field of artificial intelligence at Viettel, access data and actual operating processes to develop their AI products.

The prize structure includes 01 overall First Prize worth 100 million VND, 03 First Prizes for each group of key problems worth 55 million VND/prize, 3 Consolation Prizes worth 10 million VND/prize along with 15 Ambassador Prizes and 06 Pioneer Prizes in the Online round. In particular, young engineers have the opportunity to become human resources in the AI field of Viettel.

To participate in Viettel AI Race 2025, candidates must register no later than October 28, 2025 at the website (https://tuyendung.viettel.vn/viettelairace), choose 1 of 3 topics to do and submit from September 30, 2025 to November 11, 2025.

On November 14, 2025, the organizing committee will confirm the results, announcing 15 Ambassador Awards and 6 Pioneer Awards.

The 6 best teams will be selected to participate in round 2, continuing to practice from November 15 to November 30, 2025 to master all 3 exam questions. The final round is expected to be held from December 1, 2025 to December 3, 2025 in Hanoi , with the main activity being the Hackathon Festival (December 2, 2025), in which the teams will have 8 working hours in the space arranged by the organizers to complete the exam, present and debate before the judges.

The top 6 teams will visit and study at Viettel Group Headquarters, before attending the award ceremony on December 3, 2025.
