Long An stores more than 1,200 billion VND worth of goods for the Lunar New Year

Goods worth about 1,259 billion VND have been temporarily stored by store systems in Long An to serve people during the Tet holiday.

On January 3, information from the Department of Industry and Trade of Long An province said that it has implemented plans to temporarily stockpile essential goods to stabilize the market for the Lunar New Year 2025.

Accordingly, in order to create an abundant source of goods with stable and reasonable prices for the market from the last months of 2024 to Tet At Ty, the Department of Industry and Trade has requested supermarkets, convenience store systems, businesses, production and trading establishments in the province to have plans to temporarily store essential goods, diverse in designs and quantities to meet people's shopping needs.

Enterprises will temporarily store about 1,259 billion VND worth of goods, an increase of 36 billion VND compared to the Giap Thin Tet holiday.

Essential goods will be temporarily stocked such as rice, sugar, MSG, cooking oil, instant noodles, beer, wine, soft drinks, fresh food, vegetables, fruits, meat, fish, eggs, milk, sausages, ham, cakes, jams, etc.

Long An also has more than 3,200 general stores, contributing to increasing the supply of goods to serve people's shopping needs during Tet.

The Department also requested businesses to strengthen the organization of expanding retail and distribution networks to rural areas and industrial clusters with online sales to serve the shopping needs of people in remote areas and workers, contributing to increasing access to goods for people with low and middle incomes.

Long An Petroleum Company will also regularly maintain about 14,100m3 ^of gasoline with a total value of about 277 billion VND to serve the people.

Long An Electricity Company has also been directed by the department to regularly check the power lines and loads, materials, and spare equipment and organize on-duty assignments to ensure timely response when incidents occur during Tet. At the same time, closely monitor fire and explosion prevention work due to electrical incidents in public places, residential areas, and entertainment areas.
