This activity is a continuation of Long Chau's journey to bring quality healthcare closer to the people. According to statistics from the Ministry of Health , Vietnam currently has about 2 million blind people, 80% of the causes of blindness can be prevented and cured. Refractive errors are also increasingly common among adolescents, with an incidence rate of about 15 to 20% in rural students and 30 to 40% in urban areas. It is estimated that nearly 3 million children have refractive errors that require glasses, of which up to 2/3 are nearsighted. This situation shows that proactively screening and regular eye care is extremely urgent, especially when eye diseases are increasingly younger and silently affect the quality of life. (*)
Long Chau cooperated with V.Rohto to develop the community eye care activity 'Bright Vietnamese Eyes' in Ho Chi Minh City.
Understanding that healthy eyes not only help us see, but also open up complete connections with people, preserve moments, emotions and the beauty of life, Long Chau cooperated with V.Rohto to deploy 20 eye health screening points throughout August in Ho Chi Minh City. The activity not only provides the opportunity for free eye examination, but the specialized medical team also consults and guides appropriate care, arouses awareness of early eye care, gradually building health protection habits in the community - the foundation for a quality life, for a healthier Vietnam. Accordingly, specialists directly examine with measuring machines and specialized equipment, giving people the opportunity to check and receive eye care advice, contributing to raising awareness of protecting public health early.
A representative of V.Rohto Vietnam shared: " The companionship of Long Chau pharmacy in this program is a very meaningful connection - not only helping the program reach a wider audience but also spreading the spirit of proactive eye care to many people in urban areas. We really appreciate this partnership and hope to continue to accompany Long Chau in many upcoming community activities, to together bring bright, healthy eyes and a clear vision future to the Vietnamese community. We believe that vision care is not only a medical action, but also a way to give the opportunity to see more clearly, live more proactively, work more effectively, and enjoy life more fully. Therefore, throughout the past 20 years, V.Rohto has always strived to coordinate with professional partners to bring practical eye care activities to the community, especially those who do not have access to them."

'The project 'Free eye disease risk check' in Long Chau is part of a series of community eye care activities by V.Rohto and the 'Bright Vietnamese Eyes' Fund. The journey over the past 20 years has reached more than 50 provinces and cities**, bringing more than 890,000 free eye examinations and consultations to people across the country', emphasized the representative of V.Rohto Vietnam.
From the very first days of implementation, the program has attracted a large number of people to participate. At the screening points, specialists directly examine using measuring machines and modern equipment, helping to check eyesight quickly and accurately.
The program is more meaningful when it reaches many groups in the community, so that people have more opportunities to screen and protect their eyes in time. For office workers and students - who are often exposed to blue light, this is an opportunity to detect early signs of vision loss. The elderly are supported to check for risks such as cataracts or corneal damage, while children are examined and advised on how to protect their eyes when using technology devices, forming the habit of taking care of their eyes early.

The two units expect that vision care activities will continue to develop sustainably, to create and spread many good values, contributing to improving the quality of life for the community.
