TPO - The An Nhut rural market food court in Long Dien district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has contributed to creating livelihoods for people in difficult circumstances, providing services for developing community tourism in rural areas, but there have been problems that need to be solved in actual operations.

On February 28, the People's Committee of Long Dien district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province issued a document requesting the temporary suspension of the An Nhut rural market food court in An Nhut commune from March 1 due to safety concerns.

According to the People's Committee of Long Dien district, although the food court has contributed to creating livelihoods for people in difficult circumstances and providing services for developing community tourism in rural areas, there are problems that need to be solved in actual operation.

Specifically, the An Nhut rural market food court does not have specific solutions for parking, leading to many cars being parked close to the curb of Highway 55, causing traffic safety risks.

At the same time, the food court has no cover with the irrigation canal to ensure the safety of people, diners and especially children. The work of ensuring food safety, security and order, environmental sanitation for the area and irrigation canal is not specific.

Therefore, Long Dien District People's Committee requested to temporarily suspend the operation of An Nhut rural market food court, assigning An Nhut Commune People's Committee to coordinate with relevant departments to develop a detailed plan to solve the above problems. In case it cannot be solved, a survey will be organized to choose another suitable location.

At the same time, organize meetings and explain to trading households so that people can work with local authorities to find the best solution to both create livelihoods for people and ensure social security.

The An Nhut rural market food court opened its first session in January 2024 with 22 households participating, selling local specialties. They are poor households and workers who have just lost their jobs. The person who provides free parking is also a household that has just escaped poverty.

Initially, this market was the solution to the problem of employment, creating income for households that had just escaped poverty, and local workers who lost their jobs in the early days of 2024. After that, the An Nhut rural market food court attracted dozens of households to trade, creating excitement for tourists. The rural market became more crowded and more organized. People trading had more income to ensure their lives.

The rural market operates from 4-8pm on weekdays. Each market session attracts about 600 diners. During the Lunar New Year 2024, the number will reach 1,000 visitors per day.
