Escalating tensions in the Middle East are the reason why US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan postponed his trip to India this week.

Mr Jake Sullivan was scheduled to visit Delhi in February to attend the annual meeting of the Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies (iCET), which was launched during National Security Adviser Ajit Doval’s visit to Washington DC last year. However, the visit has been postponed to April 16.

According to the spokesman of the US Embassy in India, due to ongoing events in the Middle East, Mr. Sullivan once again postponed his trip to the country of the Ganges.

“National Security Advisor Sullivan looks forward to holding the annual iCET review soon and remains committed to advancing our deep and multifaceted partnership with India,” the spokesperson added.

According to the spokesman, US President Joe Biden looks forward to the next meeting of the Quad leaders.

“The President looks forward to the next meeting of the Quad leaders and continuing our efforts to deliver results for the American and Indian people and our partners, who share a common vision for a free, open, and prosperous Indo- Pacific region.”
