After Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang is the third destination of the Michelin Guide appraisal team in Vietnam to search for delicious restaurants to award stars.
In a statement released this morning, Michelin Guide International Director Gwendal Poullennec said that the anonymous reviewers have begun their second journey to find the "gems" of Vietnamese cuisine . In addition to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Michelin Guide added Da Nang to the review list. The list of selected restaurants will be announced in June.
Gwendal Poullennec said Da Nang's entry into the list this time is "proof of the vibrancy and quality of cuisine in each region of Vietnam".

According to Michelin Guide, Da Nang is not only a famous tourist destination recognized around the world but also a paradise for food lovers. Michelin also called Da Nang "a culinary center representing the cultural quintessence of the Central region" and the cuisine here has "made a deep impression on anonymous appraisers". The appraisers are very excited to sit on the roadside, enjoying the "gems" of the city's cuisine such as ordering a bowl of duck porridge, Quang noodles, fish noodle soup, banh xeo or fresh seafood.
Besides the familiar specialties and street food, Da Nang also offers diners an attractive and diverse high-class cuisine, expressed through the cooking skills of international chefs.
Similar to previous destinations, Michelin Guide evaluates restaurants in Da Nang according to a long-standing evaluation method that is applied worldwide according to 5 consistent criteria: quality of ingredients used, cooking skills, flavor harmony, the chef's personality expressed through the dishes and the consistency of the dishes over time as well as across the entire menu.

Sun Group Chairman Dang Minh Truong, who accompanies Michelin Guide on its journey to find delicious restaurants in Vietnam, also said that Da Nang is a land that always offers unique culinary experiences and deserves the attention of the community of food enthusiasts at home and abroad.
"The presence of the Michelin Guide continues to strengthen Da Nang's position on the international tourism map, contributing to attracting visitors from other countries," said Mr. Truong.
Michelin Guide awarded stars to Vietnamese restaurants in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City for the first time in June 2023. The first four Vietnamese restaurants to be awarded one star include Anan Saigon in Ho Chi Minh City; Gia, Hibana by Koki and Tam Vi, all in Hanoi.
"Stars" is the rating system of the Michelin Guide, the world's most prestigious culinary rating organization. One star is for a restaurant "with delicious food, worth stopping to enjoy". Two stars is for "a restaurant with excellent food, worth a visit". Three stars (the highest) is for "a place with excellent food, worth planning to visit to enjoy".
In addition to the four starred restaurants, 102 restaurants and individuals in Vietnam were honored in three categories: Michelin Selected (Michelin recommended); Michelin Guide Special Awards (special awards) and Bib Gourmand (delicious eateries at affordable prices).
The Michelin guide currently lists restaurants in more than 40 countries and territories. The guide was first launched in 1900 by the French tyre company Michelin and is committed to providing international visitors and local diners with the world's best restaurants, celebrating cuisine and promoting tourism.
