Free admission during the festival of Lady of the Land of Sam Mountain 2024

On May 24, the Management Board of Sam Mountain National Tourist Area (An Giang) announced that it will not collect fees from tourists visiting and participating during the 2024 Sam Mountain Lady Festival.

This notice is implemented according to Official Dispatch No. 673/UBND-KGVX dated May 24, 2024 of the People's Committee of An Giang province on not collecting fees during the 2024 Sam Mountain Lady Festival.

Thus, according to the announcement of the Sam Mountain National Tourism Management Board, from 00:00 on May 28 to 23:59 on June 3, 2024 (April 21 to April 27 of the lunar calendar), there will be no fee collection for tourists visiting and participating in the Sam Mountain Lady Festival in 2024.

The opening ceremony of the Lady of Sam Mountain Festival 2024 will be held at 7:30 p.m. on May 28 (April 21 of the lunar calendar), at Vinh Dong Trade Center, Nui Sam Ward, Chau Doc City, An Giang Province.

This year, the opening ceremony will be combined with the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the festival being included in the list of national intangible cultural heritage (2014-2024).

During the 7 days of the festival (from May 29 to June 3), the main ceremony includes traditional rituals: the procession of the Lady's statue from the stone pedestal on top of Sam mountain and ends at the stage of the Lady's temple; the bathing ceremony; the ceremony to request the royal decree of Thoai Ngoc Hau from the tomb to the Lady's temple; the ceremony to return the decree of Thoai Ngoc Hau from the Lady's temple to the Thoai Ngoc Hau's tomb... And the ceremony also includes festival activities such as cultural - artistic activities, physical training - sports , competitions, and performances.

Through the festival activities, An Giang province wishes to promote and introduce to domestic and international friends the potential, strengths, scenic spots, historical and cultural relics, and people of Chau Doc and An Giang; attract investment and visitors to the friendly and hospitable land of Chau Doc.

It is known that in 2023, the Via Ba Chua Xu festival at Sam mountain attracted more than 5 million visitors; the festival fee revenue was more than 45 billion VND. Of which, from the beginning of 2024 until now, this city has welcomed over 3.8 million tourists.
