SON LA - In the days before Lunar New Year, Moc Chau is not only full of apricot and plum blossoms but also brilliant in the pink color of cherry blossoms, attracting many tourists and photographers.

Cherry blossoms have been planted quite a lot in Moc Chau in recent years. Depending on the weather, the flowers can bloom early or late, but they usually bloom around the time of Lunar New Year. Starting to arrive in Moc Chau, along Highway 6, visitors can see the flowers blooming, signaling the arrival of spring.

Tran Hai, 29, currently a photographer, videographer and tour guide in Moc Chau, said this is the most ideal time to come to Moc Chau to see all kinds of flowers blooming. "While apricot and plum blossoms are usually concentrated outside the district center, in large farms, visitors can see cherry blossoms right on the streets of the central area," Hai said.

This is a row of cherry blossom trees taken in mid-January at the square of Moc Chau District Administrative Center.

In addition to the above locations, flowers are also blooming in some places such as Love Mountain Street, Tea Village 69 (photo), Ban Mon Lake, attracting many tourists, especially young people who love taking photos.

Hai said that Moc Chau cherry blossoms originated from Da Lat or Japan, and were planted in large numbers throughout Moc Chau 3-4 years ago. In October, the trees began to turn yellow and lose all their leaves, leaving bare branches. By mid-December, they began to show signs of blooming.

The flowers bloom in clusters of 5 petals, thin and pale pink. The flowers usually bloom for about a month. This year the flowers will bloom beautifully for the next 2-3 weeks. However, if there is cold rain, the beauty of the flowers will be affected.

To take beautiful photos, Hai advises visitors to take photos at 7-8am or 4-5pm when the sunlight is at its best.
