Green environment helps improve the quality of patient care

As a public service unit under the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs of Quang Binh province, in recent years, in addition to doing a good job of caring for and nurturing vulnerable people, the Quang Binh Provincial Social Protection Center has always strictly implemented environmental protection work, ensuring a clean landscape and a fresh environment.

A common home for the less fortunate

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Chuong, Director of the Quang Binh Provincial Social Protection Center, said: The Center was established in 1995 with the following functions and tasks: Nurturing people with revolutionary contributions, homeless elderly people; orphans, children with severe disabilities, abandoned newborns; rehabilitation for people with disabilities; receiving and caring for people in need of emergency protection; providing social work services according to Decision No. 32/2010/QD-TTg dated March 25, 2010 of the Prime Minister ; nurturing voluntary subjects in the province...

Despite many difficulties, over the past time, the center has truly become a common home for the less fortunate, contributing to connecting love and implementing social security policies in the province. At the same time, the center has done a good job of advising, helping the leaders of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to receive, manage, care for, and nurture the elderly, people with revolutionary contributions who are lonely and have no place to rely on, people with especially severe disabilities, orphans in especially difficult circumstances, abandoned children... Each person has a different fate and situation, but they all live in the love and care of the center's staff and share joys and sorrows with people in the same situation.

Currently, the Center is caring for, nurturing, and rehabilitating over 60 cases: orphans, people with disabilities, lonely elderly people, and people with revolutionary contributions who have no one to support them.

The unit has implemented policies and regimes for subjects in accordance with regulations; performed well the rehabilitation, maintained disease monitoring for people with limited mobility and chronic diseases... Thereby, preventing common diseases, restoring health and promptly detecting seriously ill subjects, taking them to medical examination and treatment at higher-level medical units. At the same time, regularly paying attention to health care for newborns, children and the elderly in the center.

The work of providing and preparing food ensures food safety and hygiene, with a special diet for those who are sick or need to diet. The work of increasing production, growing vegetables, raising chickens and pigs is always paid attention to, cared for and invested in to improve meals for the subjects.

The center always receives attention and support from many organizations and individuals.

In addition, the center also does a good job of supporting, intervening, and consulting on policies through hotline 18009293 for those in need of assistance in the province; supporting, intervening, and providing timely psychological counseling for dozens of cases of children with serious physical and mental damage due to abandonment, abuse, violence, and orphans.

In particular, to continue to effectively carry out the tasks and objectives set out, contributing to ensuring social security in the province, the center has deployed a model of care and nurturing for voluntary subjects in the province. The model meets the practical and appropriate needs of the living environment of the elderly and people with disabilities, meets the needs of themselves and their families, and is consistent with the development of today's society.

Create a clean, friendly living environment

In addition to professional work, the center also pays special attention to building a clean and friendly living environment to create the best conditions for the subjects. The unit pays great attention to environmental preservation, creating a clean and beautiful green campus in the center, such as: Planting trees, cleaning the campus; creating a green, clean and beautiful environmental landscape. Regularly organizing for subjects to participate in activities, culture, arts, sports; organizing club activities for the elderly - disabled; organizing precious birthdays for children... to create a joyful and healthy atmosphere, creating solidarity and cohesion in the group of subjects as well as improving physical strength, physical fitness, spirit, and confidence in daily life.

Over the years, the center has regularly strengthened the drainage system, ornamental flower garden, fruit garden, medicinal herb garden, signboard system, billboards, slogans, and propaganda within the Center's campus...

The center has planned specific locations for each growing area, with concentrated growing areas; and a system of trash bins placed in designated places to serve the daily activities of the subjects.

Currently, the Center continues to receive investment, repair and improvement in facilities and environmental landscape. The Center has also prepared plans to coordinate the best implementation, creating a perfect living environment for those cared for here.

With the motto of mobilizing everyone to participate in beautifying the environment, the center has arranged work for socio-political organizations and people being cared for at the center to do together.

Accordingly, the Trade Union is responsible for taking care of the orchards and ensuring environmental sanitation in the production area. The Youth Union is responsible for taking care of the flower gardens and ornamental plants; groups of healthy elderly people are responsible for cleaning the orchards and internal roads in the campus.

The kitchen is always tidy, ensuring food safety and hygiene.

For the outdoor billboard system, the center has arranged, laid out, and displayed realistic and vivid images of social work service activities at the Center to encourage and motivate staff and workers in performing their duties.

Thanks to the construction of a green, clean, beautiful landscape and a healthy working and living environment, officers, civil servants, employees and all subjects always feel comfortable and more attached to the center - a common home for disadvantaged subjects in Quang Binh province.
