Vietnamese dishes contribute to supporting the physical strength of Olympic athletes.

According to information on the Paris 2024 Olympic homepage, traditional Vietnamese pho and spring rolls are included in the nutritional menu for athletes participating in the biggest sporting event on the planet.

Notably, in the "Soup of the Day" section of the Asian pavilion, pho was served in the athletes' three main meals. In the introduction, pho was called a culinary monument of Vietnam, made from bone broth and pho noodles, along with many other ingredients.

Nutritional information and energy levels (kcal) of pho are described in detail on the homepage. It is known that this dish is rich in carbohydrates (starch, sugar and fiber), providing enough energy for athletes during the competition period.

In addition to pho, spring rolls are also included in Asian menus with the introduction of "Vietnamese cuisine". This dish consists of a thin rice paper layer, wrapped around a filling filled with vegetables. Sometimes there is also pork and boiled shrimp. Nutritional information clearly states that spring rolls are suitable for vegetarians because of their high starch and fiber content.

The fact that the host country France has included pho and spring rolls in the menu of the Paris 2024 Olympics not only helps Vietnamese athletes enjoy familiar dishes in a foreign land, boosting their competitive spirit. At the same time, it is an opportunity to promote traditional Vietnamese dishes to international friends.

At previous Olympics, Vietnamese dishes were often included in the menu. Vietnamese Pho appeared at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics (Japan) with the beef replaced with the typical Wagyu beef.

At the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics (Brazil), athletes were also served stir-fried pho. This proves that Vietnamese cuisine is increasingly asserting its position on the world stage.

It is known that the dining area at the 2024 Olympics is divided into 6 main areas including Europe (World), Asia (Asian), Halal (Muslim)... to meet the needs of athletes from many countries. Along with that are 11 side stalls such as street food (street food), sandwiches, burgers, cakes... The dishes are all cooked by Michelin chefs.

With this arrangement, the host country hopes that athletes around the world will have a comfortable dining experience as if they were competing in their own country, meeting all the needs of multinational tastes and cultures.

" We try to meet all needs and provide the athletes with the best food possible," said Grégoire Béchu, sustainable food project manager at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
