A university inaugurated a pneumatic practice room worth more than 6.5 billion VND.

On April 8, Lac Hong University (LHU) held an inauguration ceremony for a pneumatics lab and signed a long-term strategic cooperation agreement with the Japanese pneumatics corporation SMC on automation technology to meet the employment needs of students after graduation.

SMC Group and Lac Hong University signed a training cooperation agreement.

Mr. Gerald Ho, General Director of SMC Japan Pneumatic Corporation, said that SMC is a long-standing enterprise operating in the field of automation technology, currently present in 84 countries, with more than 20,000 engineers working worldwide . SMC came to Vietnam in 2018 and learned about Lac Hong University through Robocon competitions. SMC has also signed a contract to sponsor LHU students with equipment and funds to continue to innovate and participate in Robocon competitions in the coming years.

In addition, SMC also signed a memorandum of understanding with Lac Hong University on strategic cooperation related to funding SMC Automation Lab equipment worth more than 6.5 billion VND.

Mr. Lam Thanh Hien, Principal of Lac Hong University , said that Japan's SMC Group is one of the world's largest researchers, manufacturers, producers and suppliers of pneumatic equipment. MSC products are familiar to lecturers and students of Lac Hong University through lectures, practice equipment and especially robot manufacturing activities participating in the Vietnam Robocon contest since 2005.

Over the years, SMC has also sponsored all pneumatic equipment for the school's 5 robot teams participating in the Vietnam Robot Creation Competition in 2023. This timely support contributed to LHU achieving the runner-up position in the final round. In 2024, SMC committed to continue sponsoring LHU's robocon teams, with a total value of more than 300 million VND.
