Heavy rain, Hai Duong operates 51 pumping stations to prevent flooding

According to the Hai Duong Province Hydrometeorological Station, due to the influence of storm No. 2, from the evening of July 22, areas in the province have had moderate rain, heavy rain, and some places have had very heavy rain. The rainfall as of 7:00 a.m. on July 23 was generally between 40-60 mm. Localities with heavy rainfall are Kinh Mon town (92.7 mm), Kim Thanh district (80.4 mm), Thanh Mien (68 mm)...

Faced with the situation of heavy rains that are developing rapidly and can cause flooding that affects agricultural production, Hai Duong Province Irrigation Works Exploitation One Member Co., Ltd. has operated 51 anti-flooding pumping stations with 265 pumps in operation in 11 districts, cities and towns (except Hai Duong City). Based on the heavy rain situation, the unit will operate appropriate pumping stations.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Kim Thanh district, due to the impact of storm No. 2, by 10:30 a.m. on July 23, the whole district had a total of 400 hectares flooded, including: Dai Duc 264 hectares (of which nearly 50 hectares of sown rice were submerged), Tuan Viet 20 hectares, Ngu Phuc 10 hectares...

Currently, the Irrigation Works Exploitation Enterprise has organized the Dai Duc Commune 8-tap Pumping Station to pump water to "save" the rice. Other areas in the district are still at safe levels. Trees, vegetables, and seasonal rice have not been affected. However, to proactively prevent and combat flooding, Kim Thanh district has directed the Irrigation Works Exploitation Enterprise and communes to open all sluices under the dike to drain water. Organize the operation of 5 drainage pumping stations: Dai Duc, Tuan May, Viet Hung, Kim Xuyen and Kim Dinh. On the morning of July 23, Kim Thanh district also organized a delegation to inspect flood and storm prevention work in the localities.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Tu Ky district, on the morning of July 23, more than 200 hectares of newly planted rice in the locality were completely flooded due to the impact of storm No. 2. The flooded rice areas were concentrated in the communes of Binh Lang, Tien Dong, Ha Thanh...

Tu Ky district has operated 11 pumping stations to drain water to protect rice and vegetables. Tu Ky district People's Committee requested the district's Irrigation Works Exploitation Enterprise to coordinate with localities to proactively open sluices to drain water according to regulations, focusing on measures to ensure safety for production, especially preventing flooding of newly planted rice, summer-autumn vegetables and concentrated aquaculture areas.

As of 7 a.m. on July 23, the entire Nam Sach district had 29 hectares of rice and 3 hectares of vegetables flooded. The flooded areas were mainly in Thai Tan and Nam Tan communes. As of 11 a.m., no damage to livestock and no further damage or flooding of rice and vegetables had been recorded.
