The first day of Tet is a rare moment for us to feel a very different Ho Chi Minh City. Not noisy, not hurried, but strangely peaceful.
Streets that were usually bustling with traffic going back and forth like Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street (District 3) suddenly became spacious and quiet.
On Le Quy Don Street (District 3), for more than 10 minutes, there were only a few cars passing by. Slowly watching the rays of sunlight of the new day through the foliage in the chilly weather, what a pleasant feeling.
At Diamond Plaza shopping mall (District 1), many families dressed up in beautiful clothes, capturing moments together walking around the spring streets.
Ms. Hong (living in District 1) shared that she has two children who are both studying abroad. It has been two years since the children returned home to celebrate Tet with their family, and the whole family has had the opportunity to capture the happiest moments of the beginning of the year.
According to Ms. Hong, amidst the hustle and bustle of a dynamic city, the peaceful moments of Ho Chi Minh City on the first day of Tet are like a precious gift, reminding people of the value of peace and cherishing the time spent for themselves and their families.
