In 2023, the Provincial Border Guard Command directed the Provincial Border Guard to perform well its duties and tasks, promoting its role as the leading and core force in managing and protecting sovereignty , border security, sea areas, security, order and social safety in the maritime border area. Closely coordinate with forces to effectively combat acts of encroachment and violation of sea areas in accordance with the policies of the Party and the State. Effectively deploy measures and plans to respond to and overcome the consequences of natural disasters and search and rescue at sea, being a solid support for fishermen to go offshore.
The Provincial Border Guard also effectively fought against all types of crimes, especially drug crimes (arresting and handling 41 cases/45 subjects buying, selling, and storing drugs). Closely coordinating with the provincial police and military to grasp the situation, promptly advise the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee to direct the handling of situations and incidents; strictly maintain combat readiness according to regulations. With the achieved results, the Provincial Border Guard Command was awarded the Emulation Flag "Excellent unit in the emulation movement to win in 2023" by the Ministry of National Defense .
Speaking at the conference, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and commended the spirit of solidarity, efforts and achievements that the Provincial Border Guard has achieved in performing its tasks. The results that the Provincial Border Guard achieved in 2023 contributed significantly to the work of building and developing the socio-economy, strengthening national defense and security in the province. In 2024, maritime security still has many potential risks of instability; hostile forces at home and abroad continue to increase sabotage activities, especially in cyberspace. In that situation, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Provincial Border Guard Command to regularly disseminate and seriously implement the resolutions, directives and orders of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, the Party Committee, the Border Guard Command, the Provincial Party Committee, and the Provincial People's Committee on Military - National Defense - Border Defense tasks.
Proactively grasp the situation early and from afar, especially the situation at sea; coordinate to effectively resolve and handle incidents and events occurring in sea areas, avoid being passive and surprised; improve the effectiveness of the fight against crime and law violations. Synchronously and drastically deploy measures to prevent, repel and end the situation of Vietnamese fishing vessels and fishermen violating foreign waters to exploit seafood. Promote the implementation of models to help people eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, consolidate the "people's hearts" position, build a national border defense; build strong defense areas of coastal border provinces and districts. Maintain high combat readiness; be ready to participate in search and rescue at sea, overcome the consequences of natural disasters, prevent and control epidemics when situations arise, protect the safety of lives and property of the State and the People.
On this occasion, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also presented Emulation Flags and certificates of merit; the Border Guard Command and the Provincial Border Guard Command also commended many collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the emulation movement to win 2023.
