At the beginning of every new school year, parents are constantly discussing the collection and spending of income and expenses on social networks, especially fees such as air conditioning. Schools collect fees for air conditioning every year, so how is this fee collected according to the regulations of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City?

In the guidelines for collecting and using tuition fees and other revenues; implementing the tuition exemption, reduction, and support regime and supporting study costs for the 2025-2026 school year of public schools in Ho Chi Minh City, air conditioning fees, specifically the service of using air conditioning in air-conditioned classrooms (electricity bills, air conditioning maintenance costs, air conditioning rental costs, if any) are one of the 9 revenues collected by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training.

These revenues are issued based on the Resolution approved by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council.

Regarding the air conditioning fee, the Department of Education and Training stipulates that the fee for " Air conditioning service for classrooms with air conditioning for classes that need to use but do not have air conditioning and must rent" is based on the actual physical conditions of the unit and the need to use air conditioning of parents and the service price to calculate the specific fee but must not exceed the prescribed fee. The rental of air conditioning must have the consent of parents and be implemented in accordance with the provisions of law.

Accordingly, for classes already equipped with air conditioning, the maximum fee for preschool is 50,000 VND/month/student; primary school is 45,000 VND/month/student; middle school and high school is 35,000 VND/month/student.

For classes that need to use air conditioning but do not have it and have to rent it, the maximum fee for group 1 students (students from wards) for preschool and primary school is 110,000 VND/month/student; for junior high school and high school is 95,000 VND/month/student.

The maximum fee for group 2 students (students from communes) for preschool and primary school is 100,000 VND/month/student; for secondary and high school is 90,000 VND/month/student.
