In 2023, despite many difficulties, the province's industrial growth rate increased quite well, the added value of the industrial sector reached 5,830 billion VND, an increase of 15.08%; the industrial production index (IIP) increased by 13.17% over the same period last year. The breakthrough in renewable energy continued to be effective, contributing greatly to growth; energy projects under implementation and power transmission infrastructure exploited 485MW of transitional energy projects to create new increased capacity, the energy sector increased by 16.14%, contributing 2.59% of GRDP. Some industrial products have recovered and grown, especially the group of mining products, seafood, garments, aloe vera, cotton towels... have attracted a number of secondary investment projects in industrial parks and clusters, contributing to creating new increased capacity for the processing and manufacturing industry.

In 2024, it is forecasted that industrial production, in addition to advantages, will continue to face many difficulties and challenges. The Ministry of Industry and Trade strives for an industrial value added of 17-18%.
According to the plan of the Provincial People's Committee, in 2024, the Industry and Trade sector will have 2/6 key sectors and priority sectors to promote growth identified by the province, which are renewable energy and the development of processing and manufacturing industries. Comrade Vo Dinh Vinh, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, said: In 2024, the department will continue to focus on effectively implementing the Project to develop Ninh Thuan into an energy and renewable energy center of the country in conjunction with the Plan to implement the Power Plan VIII, speed up the connection to the national grid of 120MW of transitional energy projects and quickly implement the electricity price bidding mechanism, select investors to soon start projects with a total capacity of 275MW. Focus on supporting the removal of difficulties and promoting growth for a number of industrial products with large proportions such as beer production, aloe vera, seafood processing, construction materials, stone, cement... and speeding up the progress of new industrial projects to create additional capacity for 2024. Calling for investment in offshore wind power projects, Phuoc Hoa pumped storage hydropower, green technology and post-salt chemical complex, Hydrogen production plant; secondary investment projects in industrial parks and clusters.

The specific tasks set by the Industry and Trade sector and determined to strive to implement in 2024 include: Accelerating the implementation of energy projects included in the Plan for implementing the VIII Power Plan approved in Decision No. 500/QD-TTg dated May 15, 2023 of the Prime Minister . In particular, for wind power, focusing on ongoing projects such as Cong Hai 1 Wind Power Plant - Phase 1/3MW, Cong Hai 1 Wind Power Plant Phase 2/25MW, Vietnam POWER Wind Power Plant No. 1/30MW, Phuoc Nam - Enfinity - Ninh Thuan Renewable Energy Power Plant/65MW, Dam Nai 3, 4 Wind Power Plant/67MW. For hydropower, focusing on completing procedures for the projects of Thuong Song Ong 2 Hydropower Plant/7MW, Phuoc Hoa Hydropower Plant/22 MW. Speed up the progress of the main construction of the Bac Ai Pumped Storage Hydropower Project/1,200MW; complete investment procedures for the Phuoc Hoa Pumped Storage Hydropower Plant/1,200MW. For solar power projects, focus on completing the Phuoc Thai 2, 3/120MW solar power projects; complete procedures to call for Phuoc Trung/40MW and Phuoc Huu 2/184MW solar power plants (self-production, self-consumption). Strive to select and approve the selection of investors for the Ca Na LNG project in the second quarter of 2024. In addition, recommend relevant central ministries and branches to prioritize capital plans to invest in the construction of 500kV and 220kV power transmission infrastructure, especially important power grid projects to transmit electricity to the Southern region. In which, completing investment in 220kV Nha Trang - Thap Cham line and speeding up progress of 500kV Ninh Son - Chon Thanh line and 500kV Ninh Son substation; 500kV line from 500kV Thuan Nam substation - 500kV Ninh Son substation.
Regarding the development of processing and manufacturing industry, accelerate the progress of infrastructure investment in Hieu Thien Industrial Cluster, Phuoc Minh 1 and Phuoc Minh 2 Industrial Cluster; promote investment in Quang Son Industrial Cluster. Promote the recovery of processed and manufactured industrial products; exploit secondary projects in completed industrial zones and clusters and start 9 new projects in industrial zones and clusters, promote efficiency to create new value in 2024. In addition, the province will also innovate investment promotion methods to ensure practicality, efficiency, focus, and key points to catch the investment shift from localities to Ninh Thuan, focusing on processing and manufacturing industry in industrial zones and clusters.
