Strive to complete labor and employment targets by 2025

In 2024, the work of creating jobs for workers in the province continued to achieve important results. The Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (DOLISA) has coordinated with departments, branches, units and localities to effectively implement central and provincial policies on labor, employment and labor export, helping workers access the labor market, choose suitable jobs to increase income and escape poverty.

Solutions to create new jobs that have been effectively implemented by the province in recent times include: Attracting investment in industrial parks and clusters in the area; strengthening linkage activities in vocational training; consulting, introducing new jobs and promoting labor export. At vocational training facilities in the province, enrollment work has been increasingly linked to social needs. Many occupations with high employment rates, suitable to local realities, have attracted many rural workers to study. Typical occupations include: Mechatronics, industrial electricity, industrial electronics... Master Nguyen Phan Anh Quoc, Principal of Ninh Thuan Vocational College, said: In recent years, the school has always strived to improve the quality of vocational education, develop vocational skills for learners to meet the demand for high-quality labor for the province's socio-economic development. At the same time, it has proactively entered into joint ventures and partnerships in introducing and solving jobs for graduates. This has contributed to increasing the rate of students and graduates having jobs after training to over 85%, especially in the field of industrial electricity with a rate of 100%. Many businesses operating in the field of renewable energy in the province have recruited graduates of industrial electricity and industrial electronics for installation, operation and maintenance positions with a salary of 12-15 million VND/month, higher than the average level of the province.

The Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs has directed the Provincial Employment Service Center to organize regular and continuous monthly job fairs and mobile job fairs in districts and cities. Through the job fairs in 2024, over 30,000 workers were consulted, introduced to jobs and supported in vocational training, of which 395 people were consulted, introduced to jobs and connected to jobs. Ms. Phu Thi Song Cuong, Tan Lap village, Phuoc Nam commune (Thuan Nam) shared: In the past, my husband and I worked for hire, the work was hard and the income was unstable, so the family's situation was very difficult. Thanks to participating in the job fairs in the commune and receiving advice from the staff, I encouraged my husband to participate in labor export. During the 2 years working in Japan, each month my husband sent home more than 10 million VND to help the family pay off the bank loan, have the conditions to repair the house to be more spacious, children to study more fully and save some capital to invest in developing effective livestock and crop farming models to escape poverty and stabilize life.

In recent times, the province has implemented many preferential policies, attracting large domestic and foreign enterprises and corporations to invest in industrial parks and clusters in the area, creating new jobs for thousands of local workers. In order to ensure the lives and interests of workers, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs has actively coordinated with agencies, units and localities to guide, support and urge enterprises and employers in the area to properly implement the regimes and policies for workers according to regulations, thanks to which the quality of life of workers in the province has been increasingly improved. Ms. Tran Thi Trang in An Xuan village, Xuan Hai commune (Ninh Hai) happily said: When the COVID-19 epidemic broke out, I returned to my hometown after many years working as a garment worker in an industrial park in Dong Nai and had no job, life was very difficult. After Vietsun Ninh Thuan Investment Co., Ltd. started operating in Thanh Hai Industrial Park, I applied and was accepted to work. Currently, working near home with a stable income of more than 7 million VND/month and many other benefits for employees, my life and that of many employees working at the company has improved a lot compared to before.

In 2024, the whole province created new jobs for 18,505 workers, reaching 115.7% of the yearly plan. Of which, 222 workers went to work abroad under contracts for a limited period, exceeding the assigned plan by 48%. Thereby, contributing to reducing the poverty rate according to the multidimensional poverty standard to 2.6%, the average income per capita reached 98.2 million VND. Comrade Tran Duc Long, Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, said: Promoting job creation for workers is an important solution for the province to effectively implement sustainable poverty reduction work. The completion of job creation for workers exceeding the set plan will create a good premise for 2025, the year of the finish line in implementing the goals of the Resolution of the 14th Provincial Party Congress, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs will strive to complete the targets and tasks on labor and employment in 2025 and the entire 2020-2025 term. Specifically, the department will continue to promote job counseling and referrals to the grassroots, remote and isolated areas. In addition, it will focus on collecting data on "Job search - Job seekers", analyzing, forecasting and providing labor market information to organize effective job supply, striving to create new jobs for 16,000 workers in 2025, thereby contributing to poverty reduction and increasing income for workers in the province.
