The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training has just sent a document to departments, branches, unions, organizations, businesses and all educational institutions in the city about not accepting congratulatory flowers for the opening of the 2025-2026 school year.
According to the Department of Education and Training, implementing the directives and resolutions of the Party and State on practicing thrift and combating waste, in the process of preparing and organizing the opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year, the department announced that all educational institutions in the area should proactively limit the solemn decoration with fresh flowers in the stage areas, podiums, school gates, etc. Only use flowers in places that are really necessary to create highlights, ensuring aesthetics without being ostentatious or wasteful.

According to the Department of Education and Training, in recent days, people in the mountainous and midland provinces of the North and North Central regions are suffering devastating consequences caused by storms No. 4 and No. 5. To share the above difficulties, the Department has requested educational institutions in the area to launch a campaign to support people affected by storms and floods; guide and encourage units and individuals to convert the form of congratulations into donations and practical contributions to the school's scholarship fund or join hands to support people facing difficulties due to natural disasters and floods in response to the general call of the Department of Education and Training.
