The Education Department of Dong Thap province is implementing 6 strategic orientations to improve the quality of comprehensive education and develop high-quality human resources in the 2025 - 2030 period, striving to bring the quality of education into the leading group in the Mekong Delta.
The focus of the strategy is to invest in building 100% of national standard general schools, promote vocational training associated with key industries, and at the same time attract talent for the Pedagogy and vocational education sectors.
In particular, the province will carry out comprehensive digital transformation, apply Artificial Intelligence (AI), and popularize digital skills through the "Digital Literacy" Program to create breakthroughs and meet the requirements of socio -economic development.
Determined to improve overall quality
Implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress on Education, the Dong Thap Education sector has achieved many positive results, making an important contribution to the local socio-economic development.
The school system has been renovated and upgraded to meet national standards. The team of managers and teachers has been gradually improved and standardized in terms of training level, ensuring sufficient quantity and uniform structure.
Dong Thap's excellent student exam results always lead the Mekong Delta region, while Tien Giang province's high school graduation exam results (before the merger) have been in the top 5 of provinces and cities from Thua Thien Hue south for many years.
Notably, Sa Dec city and Cao Lanh city (before the merger) were recognized by UNESCO as members of the "Global Network of Learning Cities", affirming the local efforts in building a learning society and sustainable development.

In the period of 2025 - 2030, Dong Thap Education sector aims to continue to improve comprehensive quality, striving to have the province's education quality ranked among the leading in the Mekong Delta region by 2030, serving the province's economic - cultural - social development.
The consistent viewpoint is "Improving the quality of comprehensive education, developing high-quality human resources to serve the socio-economic development of Dong Thap province in the new period".
Developing human and material resources in the new period
According to Mr. Le Quang Tri, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Dong Thap province, to achieve this goal, the industry has set out 6 key orientations.
Specifically, organize and arrange the scientific, streamlined and effective educational network system. In particular, prioritize the construction of border schools according to Notice No. 81-TB/TW of the Politburo.
At the same time, focus on building schools that meet the standards of teaching 2 sessions/day, purchasing equipment for teaching STEM and foreign languages; prioritize the development of vocational education facilities, colleges and universities associated with training in key industries such as high-tech agriculture, processing industry, tourism, logistics, digital economy. Strive to have 90% of kindergartens and 100% of general schools meet national standards by 2030.
Complete standards, ensure quantity, quality and structure of teaching staff; promote preferential policies, attract excellent students to the teaching profession and build public housing to support teachers.

Dong Thap Education Department will organize training and fostering to improve the standards of the teaching staff according to the 2019 Education Law; at the same time, build policies to attract experts and highly skilled workers to teach at vocational education institutions.
The target by 2030 is that the rate of trained workers will reach at least 82.5%, of which 43.5% or more will have diplomas or certificates.
At the same time, the industry focuses on comprehensive digital transformation, developing information technology infrastructure, applying artificial intelligence and online learning platforms, towards building digital education and a learning society.
The sector also focuses on improving digital capacity for officials, teachers and students; implementing digital skills popularization under the "Digital Education for All" Program, and developing and integrating STEM/STEAM education in the general education program.
