Over the past 9 months, the province's agricultural production has achieved many encouraging results and maintained its growth momentum. In the remaining months of 2025, the agricultural sector has proposed many solutions, striving to successfully complete key tasks.

The agricultural sector needs to implement synchronous solutions to complete the annual plan.
The agricultural sector needs to implement synchronous solutions to complete the annual plan.

Advantages and disadvantages

According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, in the first 9 months of 2025, agricultural, forestry and fishery production achieved many positive results thanks to increased market demand, stable production environment, controlled diseases and positive shifts in crop and livestock structure.

Production linkage models, organic agriculture, and high-tech application are developing, contributing to the formation of concentrated production areas and increasing the value of agricultural products.

The total production value of the whole industry is estimated at over 74,200 billion VND, reaching 72.77% of the plan, up 3.3% over the same period; GRDP value reached over 31,550 billion VND, growth rate reached 2.8%, accounting for 32.11% of the GRDP structure of the whole province.

Specifically, the annual crop planting area reached 96.8% of the plan, the perennial crop output reached 2.6 million tons (72.45% of the plan). Livestock continued to develop in the direction of concentrated farming, farms, and family farms; many biosafety and disease-safety livestock models showed significant effectiveness.

In addition, the total harvested aquatic product output was 716,157 tons, reaching 73.94% of the plan. The agricultural sector continues to synchronously implement solutions to combat IUU fishing according to regulations.

In Tra Con commune, Mr. Ha Van Thanh Khuong - Chairman of the People's Committee of the commune, said: Over the past 9 months, the agricultural economy has continued to grow and develop, shifting in a positive direction. The collective economy has developed in terms of the number of cooperatives and cooperative groups; the agricultural and service sectors account for a large proportion of the economy.

However, agricultural production from the beginning of the year until now still has limitations.

According to Mr. Vo Tien Si - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, agricultural and aquatic product prices fluctuated strongly, many products decreased, while input costs were high, output depended on traders, and exports faced difficulties due to strict policies and standards.

Small-scale, fragmented production, lack of linkage, limited application of high technology, VietGAP and digital transformation.

Policies to support the development of agricultural cooperatives have been issued but their effectiveness is still limited; the number of cooperatives benefiting is small, mainly in training and product promotion.

Besides, infrastructure serving agriculture, aquaculture, irrigation and disaster response has not met the demand; the production-processing-consumption value chain is not closely linked.

Climate change, epidemics, drought, salinity and landslides are developing complicatedly, greatly affecting production and life; policies to support and overcome natural disasters are still limited...

Need a synchronous solution

According to Mr. Vo Tien Si, to achieve the highest goals in the last months of the year, the agricultural sector will focus on taking care of the Autumn-Winter rice crop, preparing well for the Winter-Spring crop of 2025-2026; closely monitoring diseases, proactively vaccinating livestock; encouraging biosafety and organic livestock farming, linking value chains. Supporting farmers in aquaculture according to the seasonal schedule, strengthening environmental monitoring; controlling breeds and input materials.

Besides, speed up the construction of new rural areas and advanced new rural areas, strive to achieve the set plan targets; develop OCOP industries and products; continue to build and replicate new-style agricultural cooperative models...

Mr. Chau Van Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, said: The tasks for the last 3 months of the year are very heavy, requiring the drastic and synchronous participation of the entire political system, sectors, levels and all the people.

Accordingly, to complete the industry's 2025 target, it is necessary to continue monitoring, guiding, supporting, and investing in science and technology, high-tech agriculture, clean agriculture, and organic agriculture to develop concentrated commodity agricultural raw material areas, ensuring proper planning and linking with the consumption market.

Step up the implementation of the Project on 1 million hectares of high-quality, low-emission rice linked to consumption linkages; focus on developing key crops to meet market demand.

At the same time, orient and focus on developing livestock farming on a farm and household scale, with bio-security, disease safety and environmental protection. Continue to promote and mobilize farmers to manage aquaculture areas well; speed up the progress of implementing multi-purpose irrigation works, ensuring water sources for production and people's lives.

Strengthen monitoring of weather developments, high tides, saltwater intrusion, landslides; provide timely warnings to people; proactively develop response plans, avoid being passive or surprised, especially ensuring absolute safety for people and property. Strengthen calling on businesses to invest and consume products for farmers, implement infrastructure investment to serve agricultural production...

In the plan for the last 3 months of 2025, the agricultural sector strives to achieve an additional VND 27,777 billion in production value, bringing the total for the year to an estimated VND 102,015 billion, achieving 100% of the plan target (agriculture VND 62,685 billion, forestry VND 350 billion; fishery VND 38,980 billion), with a production value growth rate of 3.3%; GRDP of the whole sector reaching VND 43,274.6 billion, a growth rate of 3.27%, contributing to the province's overall growth rate of 8%.
