Contrary to world prices, SJC gold bar price remains high at the peak

(NLDO) – The price of SJC gold bars traded this morning, August 19, continued to be at a historical peak, despite the world gold price going down.

On the morning of August 19, the price of SJC gold bars was maintained by SJC, PNJ, and DOJI companies at 124 million VND/tael for buying and 125 million VND/tael for selling, stable compared to the end of yesterday and at the highest level in history.

Notably, the difference between the buying and selling price of SJC gold bars is only 1 million VND/tael, reflecting that businesses accept low profit margins to stimulate people's selling demand.

In the free market, some small shops traded SJC gold bars at a higher price, around 124.8 million VND/tael for buying and 125.7 million VND/tael for selling, stable compared to yesterday.

The price of free SJC gold bars is approaching a new peak, approaching 126 million VND/tael, higher than the price at major gold companies and banks.

Similarly, the price of 99.99% gold rings and jewelry gold remained high when businesses traded around VND117 million/tael for buying and VND119.5 million/tael for selling.

SJC gold bar price is 18.6 million VND/tael higher than world price

Domestic gold prices remain high despite cooling global prices. In the international market, gold prices today are trading at 3,334 USD/ounce, down about 10 USD/ounce compared to yesterday.

The world gold price has not been able to break out in the short term due to the lack of supporting factors. The price of precious metals has decreased as the USD in the international market has increased again. The USD index (DXY) is currently trading at 98.2 points, up from the 97.8 point mark of the previous session.

The domestic gold price has increased rapidly and maintained a higher level than the world price, causing the gap to widen. Currently, the world gold price converted according to the listed exchange rate is about 106.4 million VND/tael, lower than the price of SJC gold bars by about 18.6 million VND/tael.

According to some gold companies, the scarce supply has caused the price of SJC gold bars to increasingly exceed the world price. Although the price of gold bars maintains a historical peak, very few people sell gold, while the demand for buying is always high.
