Phu Yen beauty Ha Truc Linh crowned Miss Vietnam 2024

In the Miss Vietnam 2024 Finale held in Hue City tonight, June 27, beauty Ha Truc Linh (born in 2004, from Phu Yen ), currently a student at the University of Finance and Marketing, Ho Chi Minh City, was crowned the highest position. The new Miss is 1.71 m tall, with measurements of 75-61-92 cm, and was Miss University of Finance and Marketing 2023.

The first runner-up position belonged to Tran Ngoc Chau Anh, 22 years old, working at the Military University of Culture and Arts. The beauty is 1.7 m tall, with measurements of 86-60-90 cm. She is the only soldier in the contest, holding the rank of second lieutenant.

Second runner-up Nguyen Thi Van Nhi, from Hai Phong , 20 years old, 1.74 m tall, three-round measurements are 82-63-95 cm.

Innovate to be different and sustainable

Previously, the Top 5 contestants were called to the behavioral round with two options: answer in Vietnamese within 60 seconds or answer in English - Vietnamese within 120 seconds.

As the first beauty to compete in the behavioral competition, Ha Truc Linh received the question: “Some people think that AI can answer all questions and help solve all problems. People no longer need to waste time studying and improving their knowledge, they just need to thoroughly use AI. But many others are concerned that AI can reduce people's ability to think, be proactive and creative. They even think that the use of AI in schools should be limited or banned, especially at low levels. How do you evaluate this issue and make the choice that you think is right?”

Truc Linh does not deny that the development of AI is really useful and supports people a lot in their work. However, she believes that AI's answers still depend on the questions users ask. From there, she realized that it is necessary to apply AI to develop themselves. According to her, people still have to constantly cultivate knowledge, develop thinking and creativity to become different and sustainable.

Participating in this year's contest, Truc Linh brings the charity project "Everyone is a hero," aiming to equip young people with basic but practical first aid knowledge to confidently face unexpected situations in life.

Ha Truc Linh expressed that her parents are the people who have influenced her the most. Her family always taught her to be a useful person, to live well for herself and for life, to think more about others and to understand the value of giving. Therefore, the new Miss rarely feels insecure because her family is always by her side to encourage and inspire her.

The crown is more than just a halo of glory

During the Miss Vietnam 2024 Final, 25 contestants competed in Ao Dai, swimsuit, evening gown and interview performances. The reigning Miss Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy performed the “final walk” before handing over the crown to her successor.

She emotionally shared: “Thuy has finished her term satisfactorily at the age of 23. I am proud to have spent my youth completing my term, successfully preserving the honor and prestige of Miss Vietnam. I left my mark with the title of Miss International 2024. I always study, work hard, and be humble, which are the provisions my parents have given me before every journey. The shy, carefree student Thanh Thuy would never have been what she is today without her parents and supporters. Wherever I set foot, there will be flowers."

The highlight of the Final Night was the live stage, inspired by the pearl on the surface of the Perfume River and the story of a shining heritage. This is where the oldest and most prestigious beauty crown in Vietnam was transferred. The crowned beauty continued the mission of the best values of Vietnamese women, expressed through the four pillars of Beauty - Culture - Intelligence - Dedication.

To realize that idea, hundreds of tons of equipment, along with a grandstand system of up to 6,000 seats, were constructed continuously by the organizing committee's technical team for many days with the highest precision and safety.

Previously, speaking at the final night of the contest, Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong newspaper, Head of the organizing committee of Miss Vietnam 2024, journalist Phung Cong Suong said this was the first time the final night of the Miss Vietnam contest was held on the banks of the Huong River in the cultural heritage city.

“Today is a special day, 25 contestants shine together with attractive, dramatic and explosive performances. Over the past six months, the contest has traveled through three regions of the country. Today is the final leg, stopping on the banks of the legendary Huong River. This is not only a journey to find and honor beauty, but also to raise the noble mission, to create and spread the values of Vietnamese women. That is the beauty of the soul, intelligence, the desire to contribute and the kindness of the heart,” said the head of the contest organizing committee, emphasizing: “The crown and scepter are not only a brilliant halo, but also carry a nobler mission, responsibility, and the spirit of tireless dedication of the new beauty queen.”

In this year’s season, the organizers still maintain the criteria of not accepting contestants who have undergone cosmetic surgery, in order to seek natural, original beauty. For more than 30 years, Miss Vietnam has been one of the prestigious national beauty contests.

Many beauties who won the contest were successful in various fields and are familiar to the public, such as: Ha Kieu Anh (1992), Mai Phuong Thuy (2006), Dang Thi Ngoc Han (2010), Dang Thu Thao (2012), Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen (2014), Do My Linh (2016), Tran Tieu Vy (2018), Do Thi Ha (2020), Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy (2022)./.

Miss Vietnam 2024 will receive a prize including a crown and VND500 million in cash. The contest also awarded the first runner-up with a crown and VND300 million in prize money, and the second runner-up with VND250 million in prize money.

The contest also awards secondary prizes (each prize is worth 50 million VND).
