Long Van urban area in Quy Nhon Bac ward is planned to become a new development center of Gia Lai province, likened to a miniature city to improve the urban appearance at the entrance to the center of Quy Nhon coastal city.
However, in recent times, a vehicle and equipment storage area has been blocking a large area of land in the urban area, along the trillion-dong road connecting Quy Nhon center to Becamex Vsip Industrial Park in Canh Vinh commune.
According to the Gia Lai Province Land Fund Development Center, the land in the new urban area of Long Van was occupied by two individuals to use as a parking lot, repair vehicles, and gather goods and equipment.
The arbitrary occupation of premises for business purposes by Mr. V. and Mr. T. for a long time has made the urban area look shabby, messy, and unsightly. At the same time, it has affected and hindered the progress of construction of the remaining technical infrastructure of the project.
Vehicles frequently enter and exit the yard, making the urban area dusty in the dry season and muddy in the rainy season.
Vehicles and equipment are gathered in a mess in the new urban area of Long Van.
Urban land naturally becomes a garage.
Vehicles and equipment are gathered on sidewalks and road corridors, affecting the technical infrastructure of urban areas.
The sidewalk drainage system of the Long Van New Urban Area technical infrastructure system lost its cover and was temporarily covered with an unsafe concrete block.
Mr. Ngo Tung Son, Director of Gia Lai Province Land Fund Development Center, informed that Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee has issued a document on urgently implementing a plan to resolve the problems of 8 long-standing projects. Among the 8 long-standing projects, the Long Van new urban area technical infrastructure project is preparing to continue construction and completion.
At the same time, on July 8, 2025, the Gia Lai Provincial Land Fund Development Center coordinated with the People's Committee of Quy Nhon Bac Ward to request two individuals occupying urban land to move their belongings, equipment and vehicles, and return the land to continue construction. However, nearly 3 months have passed, according to the VTC News Electronic Newspaper reporter, the occupied land has not been cleared yet.
"The Provincial Land Fund Development Center has requested the two individuals mentioned above not to park or park their vehicles on the land and to urgently move their belongings and equipment out of the premises. However, these individuals still do not comply. In the near future, the center will report to the Provincial People's Committee to completely handle this gathering place," informed Mr. Ngo Tung Son, Director of the Gia Lai Provincial Land Fund Development Center.
Not only is the new urban area of Long Van messy and chaotic, right at the entrance of the urban area connecting to National Highway 1D, large tanks also appear, blocking the view and showing signs of encroaching on the traffic safety corridor.
It is known that Long Van Urban Area has a planning area of nearly 1,380 hectares, of which the Urban Area Technical Infrastructure Project was approved by the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province on October 11, 2018 with a total investment of more than 176 billion VND (the Provincial People's Council approved more than 187 billion VND). Implementation period from 2018 - 2021. The project started construction at the end of December 2018 and has been completed over 96%, however, the remaining part was extended to 2026 due to site clearance work at locations with assets and houses of enterprises.
